GP: Grave Prosperity is an upgraded remake of LDC Studio's 2015 Grave Prosperity: Redux

    Plot:

"GP follows a woman named Amber Ridge as she finds herself broken down on a mountain road. Without any reception and no signs of help, she is forced to seek shelter in the nearest town- Prosperity."

    Gameplay Breakdown:

This game is still an action/horror hack n slash title that is pretty unforgiving in its difficulty and focuses heavily on player reflexes. The combat has remained the same, but the controls and animations have been updated to better accommodate the fast paced combat system. Amber's move set includes:

    <>Default 4 hit combo

<>Thrusting attack for closing distance with the enemy

<>Counter attack based on timing after blocking an enemy attack

<>Acrobatics for evading enemy attacks (forward roll/back flip)

<>Frame cancel at any time during an attack to dodge or block

GP has omitted the previous game's up and down movement and has streamlined all navigation to a more practical left and right movement. Also, the pause menu has been removed in favor of a live action interactive HUD. So changing weapons and using recovery items is all now done in real-time, in or out of combat.

Upgrading Amber is now also more accessible, as enemies and events now offer a better balance of EXP. Upgrades include:

    <>Increase Max HP

    <>Increase Max Guard

    <>Increase Melee Damage

<>Increase the effectiveness of recovery items

<>Increase Firearms Attack Power (when they become available)

  • Aw man, I don't care if these are all ripped assets straight from an emulator! This is a real blast from the past! Me and my childhood best friend used to play this game for hours back on the SNES. It's very cool to see something so memorable being brought back, and for the opportunity to see it from the inside as well!

This is something I would love to see made completely, HD or not.

  • Got a little teaser video made up last night for the Grave Prosperity Remake:

  • Thank you, for most of that! I do hope this game has the sort of atmosphere that brings people back a couple decades. It was my favorite time in gaming. I am actually very excited to see the reviews when they start coming in!

About the logo, well, it basically sums up the feel of the game in a very simple sort of way. A logo can set an expectation, and I didn't want that to be anything flashy or exciting looking. It's grim and cold, just like the story behind it.

In any case, in 4 days when the game goes live, if the logo is the only thing people hate then I will be happy!

And thank you for the support you're throwing my way on VK.com! Word of mouth is my favorite form of advertisement!

  • Finally got back to reworking the boss of the old Grave Prosperity Redux! In this remake the encounter is a little different:

  • Just got the second enemy type all set up in-game! The Berserker has officially made its way back into the Grave Prosperity Remake!

Here is a combat demo showing it in action:

  • Now that House of Velez Part 1 is complete, it's time to start looking at Grave Prosperity again! I think I finally got the combat system down here:

  • House of Velez now has its own store page up on Steam! You can check it out here:
