  • Simple Carnival 'Toy Grabber' type game I created for my daughter.

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/TOYGRABPIC.png" border="0">

    How to play

    1, The first green arrow button, sends the grabber 'OUT' (left click and hold)

    2, The second green arrow button, sends the grabber 'SIDEWAYS' (left click and hold)

    3, Release the second green arrow button, when the grabber is directly over a prize.

    4, Use the grabbers reflection to help you line it up.

    You have 2 minutes to collect all the prizes.

    Not a very exciting concept.....but I wanted to see if it could be done with Construct 2 (AND MY DAUGHTER IS 28)

  • Kyatric@

    Hahaha nice ending line ^^

    Pretty cool. I made it on my first try, the truck seems pretty stable, and it's coherent.

    My second try, I rushed to the end, and went so far in the air I went over the finish line and wasn't stated that I had finished ^^

    That's a cool prototype, you should make far more levels/level editor/etc... (you know the usual ^^)

    I had fun, I want more !

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    I am working on the next few (harder) levels as we speak. I just need to make a few more 'vehicle' textures and better obstacles.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    SullyTheStrange@

    I echo Kyatric's sentiments, it's really fun and I don't even usually like this type of game.

    Only problem I had was that once I got completely stuck upside-down, wedged between a hill and a car, with no amount of left or right clicking able to free me. Maybe you could add an action to flip the truck if you detect it's upside-down for more than a second or two?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Holding down the right mouse, usually gets you flipped unless your really jammed.

    I could add a button that allows you to flip back when stuck..? (didnt want to make it too easy though)

    You make these types of games feel nice to play when I had a go at this type of game it worked nicely, except for handling the rotation both ways. If I went the way you did it it felt fine, but if I do it jnt the opposite direction not so good so I gave up.. Have you had this problem?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    Do you mean getting the truck to move both ways? If you do...then it would only be a case of reversing the physics impluses?

    --------------------------------------------------------

    Thank for your imput guys.

  • Monster Truck Smash

    Guide the Monster truck over the obstacles, and crush things.

    Work in progress (no sounds)

  • chrisbrobs,

    How did you make the player stay on the bike?

    pin?

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/join.png" border="0" />

    Only the player's hand is joined to the bike (last event)

  • The frontwheel seems to be off centered. Have you set the bounding box to circle?

    Yeh, I set it to circle, but I think the graphic I made for it, is a couple of pixels out of square.

    Thanks for pointing it out..will change it.

  • Is there anyway i can see the capx? I promise I wont steel it, I followed Weishaupt's tutorial but wheelie's and flips were hard to recreate, you seem to have done this pretty well :)

    I created the rotation with the following event(s)

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/flip.png" border="0" />

    These are applied to the front wheel(1) and the main frame(2)

    I didnt actually use any of Weishaupt's events in my game, so i dont know if they will work in your project, but you should be able to adapt them.

  • STUNT PHYSICS GAME   WIP

    This is Level 1 (well nearly) of a game i am working on.

    It's basically a rag doll crash test dummy on a motorbike (Thanks to Weishaupt for his Physics bike tutorial)

    The aim of the game is to jump over stuff without crashing.

    You can also perform tricks with the bike.

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/STUNTSPLASH.png" border="0">

    CONTROLS

    SPEED: Click and hold down the 'Speed button' to go faster.

    WHEELIE : Right mouse hold down or Keyboard 'S' (when on the ground)

    360 DEGREE FLIP : Right mouse hold down or Keyboard 'S' (when JUMPING)

    Next couple of levels will be done this weekend.

    PLAY

    Any feedback welcome.

  • Looks great! What kind of game will you be building around this?

    Some sort of space based physics game?

    ..anyway here's the capx if anybody wants it.

    Example

  • Here's an example of a ragdoll character i am hoping to include in a game.

    There's no instructions, just run it and the dummy will do the rest.

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/ragdoll.png" border="0">

  • Confusing question indeed. I'll just drop this link: Derek Yu's pixeling tutorial and call it a day.

    Excellent tutorial link. <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    I took on board some of your suggestions, and put them into the latest build.

    Added sounds

    Launch button for ball

    Each hole is now automatically created.

    PLAY

    Let me know what you think.

  • mrsponkie@

    anyway, nice idea. How did you generate the random holes?

    With great difficulty...matching the tiles up !

    kbdmaster@

    don't use sonic character

    make your own

    because Nintendo can attack you in justice

    Yeh i know, i only used the character as a marker.
