  • Hey Pixel, nice work!

Just installed it, and the game runs really smoothly. Liking the many layers of parallaxing too (it add loads of depth to the game).

    5 stars all the way

  • Nice work Arima, seems like "Shards" is off to a good start, and its looking great so far. I particularly like the contrast between the characters and the scenery, really makes them stand out!

If you have enough content, splitting the game seems like a good idea! Always leave them wanting more, as the old saying goes

You're right, this type of thread can really help to raise awareness/interest in a project. I've also discovered it can help to provide the developer with added motivation too. Opening up your creation to the world, seems to come with an underlying sense of obligation to provide further updates. And I've found that can encourage me to work, even when I don't really feel like it.

Anyway, good luck, I look forward to seeing more

  • The project looks fantastic, can't wait to see more!

And congratulations on the Kickstarter, that's a great result (and still 9 days to go). Obviously lots of of people out there have recognised the potential the game has!

  • peterbot1970, thanks! Luckily we only have two buttons, so we haven't had any control problems. I can see how 5 might be a problem though, is there any way you could reduce or combine them?

pixel perfick, I wondered who'd be the first to notice that

  • Icarus, really enjoyed playing your game.

I've only completed the tutorial section so far, but I found it very helpful, and easy to follow. I also liked the comic elements you've added in the conversation between the mad scientist and Buddy Bot. Cool music too, really fits the game well. Good luck with it, I'm gonna try playing for longer when I have a little more time

Edit: Throwing doughnuts though!? That's just crazy talk, and I cannot condone it! Doughnuts are for eating, not for throwing

  • pixel perfick, very cool looking game! I really like the force of the explosions, it certainly makes them seem much more explosive.

  • Story

In a galaxy, far, far away...

Stan is a simple guy, with one heck of a cool job! Because Stan is responsible for collecting all of the spare parts, and old junk floating around in space. And using it to fix and upgrade the various satellites in orbit around the galaxy.

G-Runner is a fun and challenging "platform-runner" idea, and we wanted to share what we've made so far!

    Further info

Stan was one of our very first projects using C2. I learnt a lot of C2 basics while working on the game. Unfortunately, I ended up being distracted by a few other ideas, so the game was eventually shelved. Anyhow, I decided I should really go back and try to finish it off.

Galaxy Runner Stan the Space Repair Man, may sound like a bit of a mouthful. But we wanted to try and convey the idea of someone with a fantastically exciting and important job, and a very down to earth name and character.

    Dev team

G-Runner was created and developed by the Blacksmith Software team

    • Tim Smith (development, sound, level design)
    • Arlene Blackwell (artwork, level design)

    Finally

We've still got lots of stuff to finish. But we're going to try and release the first area within the next few weeks. After that we've got 4 more areas to work on, and plenty of cool ideas for those.

Once the first area is completed, we'll post a link so you can try it out

    We hope you enjoy it.

  • Really like the graphic style of the game! Can't wait to give it a try

  • Hey tulamide,

    Hope you're feeling well again

Sad to hear that you've decided to cancel the event, it certainly sounded like an interesting story. Perhaps you could use what you've written for a game of your own instead, seems a shame to let your hard work go to waste.

I'm not sure I would've participated, simply because I've never been too good at Game Jams. I like to put lots of time and thought into getting my work just right, which doesn't usually mix well with the time limits most events have Still, the concept was a really exciting one, and it would've been fun to see what people might have come up with!

I've downloaded and listened to your Pirin tracks, and once again they're really good! I don't have a project to use them in at the moment, but I'm sure they'll come in handy some day, so thank you

I hope that's not the last we see of you around the forum, I'm sure things will pick up again sometime

  • Fantastic job Scirra team, 1M sure is a BIG milestone! And with such an amazing product, I'm sure we'll see plenty more milestones in the future.

    Keep up the great work

  • yongsheng,

    Thanks, we appreciate the help

  • We'd also be willing to pay more for improved export options, to ALL mobile platforms.

I've always loved using C2, and I really believe in the product. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a C2 developed mobile app, that can rival one of the top mobile games, for both complexity and performance. I find that rather sad, as I know this could be possible, with a few improvements. And the developers I've met (who choose to use C2), certainly have the talent to do it!

The mobile marketplace is huge (and growing daily), which is a fact that just can't be ignored. For any software to be taken seriously as a professional development option, having great games, that are complex and deliver high performance on mobiles, is a must.

Most professionals are willing to invest in the tools they use, and we're no different! If it can help us to make the money we need to continue making games, that would be a very worthwhile investment.

  • yongsheng,

We do already use our own custom "exit window" to check the player wishes to exit before closing the app. I just wanted to make sure your proposed default "system exit window" would not interfere with our own custom exit window.

    Thanks

  • Very cool game! The images and game play provide a superb depth & 3D feel to the project.

Can't wait to play the finished game

  • Fantastic! Love the look of the game, and the simplistic (but fun) game play, really like the oil puddles and skids too.
