  • you only get a 20% discount

only the cave runner game kit is worth it's price

this bundle is not worth it at all

    it's like

    get one, pay for five

    Hi eleanorjmorel,

    Thanks for your comment.

I have contacted every single developer and that's the discount everyone has agreed to give. Because everyone gives value to their work depending on their personal life experience and investment done during development.

I understand that you are an expert Construct developer and therefore you don't think the other templates are valuable to you. I am not sure how you can evaluate the worth of a template without buying it, but I understand that a first look might give you enough to judge.

However, I would invite you to consider that not everyone that approaches Construct is an expert user and therefore the current price, converted in working hours that an absolute beginner should invest in learning, is much more convenient.

For example, let's assume the buyer has a job that earns $20/h, that's not even 1 day of work to buy the 6 templates. Now, think how many months a beginner has to spend to learn all the mechanics to recreate these 6 templates. In the case of this person, it's absolutely worth it.

Now an expert user, like you doesn't really need to buy a template. For example, in the past I bought only the Beat'em Up / 2D Scrolling template, just because I was curious to see if the way Danuyos implemented the Z-order sorting was the same as I did. I never needed to buy a template because I know I can do it by myself. On the other hand, I know many people that buy templates to learn from them. I had and currently have, clients that buy lots of templates because they are just starting with Construct. So once again, that's a personal thing.

If you think that only one of the template is worth, I invite you to keep an eye on Tokinsom, ChrisZero and danuyos pages and see if sometimes they run a temporarily higher discount :-)

  • Constructboy there is really a lot of work to do for that.

Are you searching for what? A tutorial? In that case, better divide your requirements in small pieces and search for individual tutorial.

If you instead are searching for a customised help, I give one to one private lessons of Construct 2/3 or otherwise I work as freelancer to develop prototypes, demos and complete games too.

Feel free to get in contact with me if you want a teacher or someone that develop the game for you :-)

  • DogeDev if I have understood well, the solution is quite simple.

Disable or get rid of the solid object on top of the screen, then limit the Player's movement input if too high than a specific Y amount.

You can see how I have done here in my tutorial to limit the left and right movement of the spaceship:

    https://youtu.be/hy5_FzrfYDs?t=935

No third party plugins required and works even with the free version of C2.

  • More like Operation Wolf rather than Space Harrier, but I have sprites coming closer to the players + zoom effect in my template:

    construct.net/en/game-assets/game-templates/fps-rails-template-363

You can try it on the arcade too:

    construct.net/en/free-online-games/test-demo-fps-rails-template-4963/play

It works without third party plugins.

  • Hi ChrisHarden, if you are still interested at the moment I don't have a devlog of one of my games but I am considering to start one.

So far, there are Tutorial on my YouTube channel and a diary of what I am doing + some suggestion about my challenge to become full time indie developer in one year:

    i.ytimg.com/vi/eRQay9DYDZs/default.jpg

Maybe that might interest you too :-)

I will still use C2 for my project and C3 for customers' project if it's a requirement.

I only use official plugins in C2, so at any time if something happen I can still move everything in C3 and be safe.

  • It's quite hard to track down a game in the arcade without a search option.

Would it be possible to implement it?

    Thanks

  • We're building a game, and we know we can get a lot of help from the community, but is there any pros who can get just about any task done?

It's unlikely to find someone that can do anything, but for sure someone can help.

I work as freelancer for example to develop or fix games, but I also teach and do consultation related to game development.

You should at least give a general idea about what you need. So you might be contacted by the right person.

For example, I don't create plugins but I can help you with the code or game design. Another person might be more focused on the plugin creation and backend, so really, it would be better to give at least a general idea of the help you need.

  • im making a final final fantasy tactics game, and its almost complete i just need help with the multiplayer part

If the multiplayer part is missing, it's very far to be completed.

You need to specify first of all what type of multiplayer are you trying to implement (peer to peer or with server), then if you are willing to pay for the assistance, it's better to post this in the "Job Offers and Team Requests" since the help you will need will be probably very customised to your case and therefore take lots of time to be done. Therefore you might have a better chance to receive proper help paying for professional help.

  • Hi, I could help depending on what you want to do.

This is one customer peer to peer multiplayer game I have completed a few days ago for a customer:

    https://einsoph5.itch.io/kirifuda-blitz

It's for 2 players, so if you want to test it, you will need to open another browser page with the same address or use a different device.

I have sent you a friend request on Discord.

    Thanks

I noticed a lot of the assets are on multiple stores. I also noticed the prices for the unlimited use license don't seem to match the price on the other stores which typically seem to suggest unlimited use.

In fact the single use license seems to match the unlimited use on the other stores.

Why would I buy anything here?

I can explain why, probably not for all cases, but it might justify some cases.

When the closed beta of the store was on, we as sellers, had to include the Single Use license, it was a compulsory choice. Then, Unlimited and Exclusive licenses were additional options. We couldn't choose Unlimited without choosing Single Use.

Therefore, I guess, many opted to put the item on sale knowing that buyers will use anyway the license in several projects. Having the unlimited option was forcing us to ask for a much higher price. I can't recall exactly how much it was before, but now it has to be a minimum of 3 times more.

Me and other seller pushed to have the option to sell only as Unlimited or Exclusive, without having to set a price for Single Use, and then later Scirra's Team did the change.

What happened is, or at least I think, that many sellers didn't want to change again the price settings or didn't notice the new option, and therefore what could have been an Unlimited license since the beginning, now is set a Single Use license.

Of course, some seller might put intentionally the license in that way, in that case, I suggest you ask directly to the seller why on other stores is selling with unlimited use and not on Scirra's Store.
