  • Good shit. Bra skit.

  • Just one thing i thought of. You have probably thought of this yourself too, but if there are anyone who hasn't i will post this anyway.

We should try to avoid "little hittler" being one of the main tutorials for construct. You know.. peopole are paranoid for nazis, and just the name might give people thie wrong thoughts about the program. Since there isn't very much tutorial stuff on construct yet this will be a good resource, but still we shouldn't go around in every forum we can find shouting: "Try this program construct! Her's a tutorial of how you make a hitler game"... Well... you probably get the point.

  • Well... i could have solved it in many ways, but when i made it i didn't even plan to post it here. We just made it for fun but i thougth you might like it so i posted it her too. For now, i've just checked the fullscreen box, but i won't repost it. It's easy to do by your self.

But you have a point deadeye. I know how frustrating it can be when people make games that you can't play and tell you it is "standard" to have what it takes to play hit... hrm... pixel shaders.. Anyways, i didn't even think of the fact that some people might have a lower resolusion and what that might result. I will keep that in mind in the future!

  • Thank you for your comments!

Yeah, i did the graphics! Glad you liked it! If this becomes a whole game i don't think the movement will be too hard. You get in to it after a while, but for a demo like this when people just play for a coupple of minutes it might be hard. Did you try the "realistic" movement? That's how it was in the beginning.

Why should the window size be smaller? I chose that size because i didn't want the screen to scroll, but i still wanted to be able to create variated levels (hard to do on a small screen).

Thank you for your tips on the spawning thing. I looked at that event first, but i didn't really know what it did so i took the one i was used to.

  • I got that one too. I've used 0.92 in the meantime.

  • That's pretty cool. If I had any complaints at this stage I wouldn't mind you being specific about how you want your movement controls to work. The low-acceleration, high speed turning is difficult to manage.

Hmmm... i think the movement is very easy to controll right now, unless you check the "realistic movement" box. Well, lets hear what other people say, and maybe i'll change it, but personaly i like it right now.

deadeye: I'll give it a try! Thanx!

  • Ok, her's a little thing me and a friend of mine made in a day. You can't finnish the game yet, ther's no goal. The only thing you can do is fly around and push the asteroids and enemy ships with your high-tech weapons.

    Controls:

    Left/right-Rotate

    Up- Speed up

    Control- Fire pushbeamthing

Shift- Shockwave (hold to charge, release to shoot. Takes about two seconds to maximize.)

The big issues right now is

    1. The little twist preformed by the enemies when they pass the angle of 0*. We got it to work with one enemie, but then it flipped out. I wasn't the one dealing with that part, so i don't really know what the problem is right now.

    2. Collision detection impossible with objects using the physics movement. Tried some simple things with detectors that didn't work very well. Is this planned to be implemented any time soon Ash

    3. I couldn't find a way to make the edit box accept numbers only.

Comments and critics are highly Appreciated!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • But set force 0 don't stop the object from moving... Why?

    Edit:

Also, to stop something rotating use Set Angular Velocity.

    Thank you!

  • What's the difference between ad and set force/torque? I thought set torque to 0 would stop the sprite from rotating emmediately, and set force 0 would stop it from moving. Ad and set seems to do the same thing right now.

  • Tried a lower resolution, and tried installing new drivers, but nothing worked.

  • Graphics hardware: GeForce 4 MX 440 (might be the problem)

I don't really know what VRAM is or how i find it, but it's probably not anything that would impress you...

  • I've tried construct on my parents computer now, and it just crashes, giving me the error message: R6025 -Pure virtual function call

  • Or maybe allow it to scroll to alphabet on keypress, like in an Explorer window. Just press T and it scrolls to the next item starting with T, from current selection or top, to the bottom then back to top.

It's allready like that, but too many actions start with the same letter, so it's not very practical either.

  • I think the doubble-klicking is perfect, but there is one thing that annoys me. There are too many actions to choose XD.. One thing that i would really like is a search box. You create a new event, you klick on an object (a sprite for example), then you write for example "an anim..." then ther's only the "An animation playing" event showing. Like when you're searching in itunes!

  • Well spoken Ashley. Recruiting people isn't really important now. People will try to make a game, run in to a bug, and go back to whatever they used before. After 1.0 the word will spread by itself, and the community will start to grow.
