  • Does anyone tried Electron on this issues?

  • Construct Classic unloads memory simply destroying the last sprite instance.

  • I supposed that, but thank for the reply!

  • Is it possible to get a perfect ellipse collision? Tried scaling vertically an object with circle collision shape, but it does not work.

  • If they are going to be the first 3 level in the final game game, they are difficult. As mentioned Magistross, when you start purchasing it is easier, but the problem is that you get all improvements very quickly, and the game it is not the same. But I like the on map shop idea. Another option would be to unlock only some upgrades on the shop when you complete a level, or simply using a traditional lineal method like in Xenon 2 (level1, shop, level2, shop...) without a map.

Maybe you can make the game easier, using the analog sticks and the mouse position (Tyrian), and lowering penalization when you collision with the scene walls.

  • I mean stretch the layer in one direction.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Is possible to scale or zoom a layer only in vertical or horizontal direction like in Contruct Classic?

  • Very entertaining game, with very solid gameplay and clear design, that help too to minimize the download size. I have found the menu transitions a bit slow (main, store and map), specially when you want to play again

  • One thing that I don´t like to see in Scirra's home page is "No Programming Required!". That is true for little demo games, but if you want to do a more "serious" games you need to program it with event sheets. From my experience, I do not use behaviors except for shadow casting. When you mix behaviors and custom movements, setting custom coordinates..., you get unexpected results. Things like pausing a game with event sheet are really easy breaking loops, but with behaviors is different. I usually always use families for everything too.

Anyways I think that Construct is the easiest and most powerful game creation tool out there, even I do not share Construct html future. And when I say Construct, I include Classic. I think they are 2 different products; one for making native games and the other for making web games.

  • Jayjay thanks for sharing your experience!

Here another post-morten from The Next Penelope game:

  • Hello. I am making a Bastion style top-down view game with handpainted backgrounds and 3d pre-rendered animated characters. As this games need many frames (RAM and HD), I would like to know, if Q3d can handle realtime 3d characters in a 2d Construct scene like a sprite with my own 2d z ordering. Is Q3d only a separate 3d layer than can not be mixed with 2d layers?

    Thanks

  • Thanks HeroBix!! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    No problem.

Actually that kinda makes me want to make some sort of online theme editor.

That would be helpful. As it is now is tricky due the amount of clicks, color codes and event sheet refreshments.
