  • It didn't even occur to me to test on another browser, so I forgot to mention, I tested it on Chrome.

  • Hi,

    I'm pretty sure this is a bug.

    First, in my game, I'm using the dictionary object to handle text. Everything is working fine whitin the game, but when I try to download the .json file from the dictionary, I get this:

    <img src="http://i.imgur.com/R4nzYN5.png" border="0" />

    This is the code:

    <img src="http://i.imgur.com/w6yFlMa.png" border="0" />

    ---

    I've also tried to replicate the error on a new project, this is what happens:

    <img src="http://i.imgur.com/7aXaCpx.png" border="0" />

    And here's the code:

    <img src="http://i.imgur.com/t1xqOwq.png" border="0" />

    So maybe I'm missing something, but it seems that the dictionary value can't into spacing, but ONLY when I try to download the .json file. In-game everything works, spaces and everything:

    Thanks.

  • That was it! Thanks a bunch!

  • Hi,

    This might be a quite simple question but I just couldn't get this to work right.

    I have 2 variables, one contains "testobject" and the other contains a number.

    What I'm trying to do is this:

    <img src="http://i.imgur.com/Ecod6.png" border="0" />

    So I can tie together the line of text that the object is saying.

    For example, I have 3 lines of text for testobject, so I called them "testobject2", "testobject1" and "testobject0". When the playber collides with testobject, I set a variable (Objects.numFalas) to 2, so when the text is written, it looks for the "testoject2" in the dictionary file and returns it. I think it would work but I can't seem to tie together these 2 pieces using &, am I missing something?

    Also, I understand this is not the best way to do it (probably) but I got even more confused by using arrays and such.

    yes, you can download old versions of C2 here:

    DOH, that was the problem then. I'm using lerp to zoom in and out and I wasn't converting it into an integer. It doesn't look as smooth as it is without the lerp, but it'll have to do. Thanks!

    Another workaround is doing what Arima said, instead of having 32x32 tiles I made them 32x33 and it also worked.

    Thanks everyone!

    edit: one last question, is there a function where I can make a big number like 1.239482 into just 1.2 instead of rounding it completely?

  • Hey Ashley

    My graphic drivers are up to date, and I'm already using point sampling and pixel rounding, but the lines are still there. In Chrome everything is just fine until I try to zoom in, and on other browsers I get these lines everytime..

    <img src="http://i.imgur.com/kmVZg.png" border="0" />

    I use the "snap to grid" option and 32x32 tiles, and this has been driving me crazy.

    I also tried exporting to node-webkit and the lines still appear.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Are you working on a commercial project that you MUST, at all costs, have a stable version of? Then use the stable releases. If you're messing around, learning new things and creating a game without any base, use the beta versions.

    The game I'm making is still in early development, so I use the beta versions of C2 all the time.

    The best think you can do is just keep a backup at all times.

  • You should be able to do that if you turn on the grid and grid snapping.

  • Create invisible boxes and shape them however you want, then use the PIN object to pin them to your main object. Should work, I think..

  • Hi,

    My game uses a lot of scaling. Like zooming in/out when a player presses a key to open a menu... but whenever I scale the layout, I get some graphic glitches.

    Here's an example- when the player presses "space", a menu appears above the girls head, and when he releases it, the menu disappears. You can notice the glitchy lines on the screen then.

    <img src="http://i.imgur.com/YEhlh.png" border="0" />

    I think this is mostly caused because I place the tiles using the "snap to grid" option... but then, I might be wrong.

    Is there anything I can do?

    Thanks!

  • Wow, that's kinda of a neat idea, Space Ape!

  • I didn't buy one, but a friend just linked me this:

    devs.ouya.tv/developers

    Maybe PhoneGap or that other company would be willing to add the OUYA as an exporter option?

  • You can achieve that by using layers.. I think that messing with the canvas would be too process intensive? I don't know.

    You can also use layers to simulate a "mask" using layer effects, for instance, you draw a square and say that you want something to appear only inside that square. Like masks in Photoshop.
