Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!
  • Construct It, is a large collaboration being organized by InvaderX PixelPalette DravenX and

The purpose is to have a fun development experience, where we as the community share and play our creative ideas in a retro mini game mash up. It's strictly volunteer work, in which the final game will be provided for free on the Scirra arcade.

    The requirements are:

    • The minigame must use a window size of 640x480.
    • It must use only 1 layout and event sheet.
    • Minigames should be endless-score based games.
    • These plugins cannot be used: facebook, kongregate, windows 8, cocoonjs, appmobi, browser, ajax, user media, xml, touch, or any third party plugins.
    • Minigames must be rated G - PG13. this means no vulgar language and minimal amounts of blood.

You can email your minigames to encryptedcowlfi@gmail.com and we will present them for a vote, to pick which ones will make it into first

    game compilation.

All entries must be turned in by January 31st 2013 and no later.

Please format the subject as such:

Construct It: (Game Name) - (Your Name)

  • Also, Please provide on how to play, the name of the mini game, a short description, and how you would like to be referred to in the credits.

  • And what are you giving these people in exchange for their time and effort?

  • newt

The pleasure of knowing they contributed to a community game?

  • Well I think you need to leave a little more information than what you have started with.

Such as it is to be a community game, for no profit, and where it is to be displayed.

  • Okay then.

  • Updated post with more info.

  • I should also add that these minigames are prototypes to be polished later for a final project. So do not worry about how it looks! Just the basic idea and our helpers will turn it into a polish, cohesive experience for the user.

  • Ok, thanks, but "all developers will be giving up their minigames for use in this collaberation" is a bit off don't you think?

That sounds like they will be giving up any rights to the games, when all they are really doing is giving you permission to publish the games.

    Anyway, good luck.

  • Thanks! We have really got to fix that xD.

  • Completely redid the original post. Sorry about the confusion everyone.

  • Is this different than the OUYA collaboration, a part of it, or its replacement?

It's part of the google group discussion (Blazah's idea), and their is interested members for that. Btw, join the Skype group! 8)

  • OK, what about webGl effects? Are these allowed? What about custom webGL effects?

EDIT: Another question - if it's for the Arcade, how are you going to get around the 10mb limit? Will there be a mb limit for all the games?

Also, are you planning on reskinning the games to fit a common graphical theme or just leaving them as they are (not saying that would be a bad thing ;) )

    Yes, webgl is allowed.

Not every game will get to be in the first Mini Mayhem, which is one way to keep the file size down. A selected few will be in once the vote is tallied. The ones who don't make it, can reenter them if they modify it for the next event.

Yes, i will reskin the entries that make it. Conforming to a single style.
