• Ludei was saying that last month :|

  • Yeah, It's a little disappointing to get an email about the upcoming version of cocoonjs 1.4 before the end of the month of May, just to find out that almost 1 month later after you receive the email, its still not out. Not a word to inform you why, which would be understandable in my opinion. I have delayed the release of my game to the appstore because of the fixed memory management which is going to be in the newer version, but last night I was forced to just submit it, because the release is just around the corner.... still....

And while I am a big Fan of Ludei and the software that they produce, It is hands down the best !!! Keeping your Users in the Dark for so long is somewhat poor on their behalf, hope the release is ready soon.

  • Hi guys and ludei, have there been any updates to 1.4 yet? It looks like there is quite a bit of eager anticipation for it here!

  • I was sent a trial cocoonjs launcher (for android) that included webgl support. My FPS went up approx 50% which is nice. However, I had to report that there were texture scrambling errors on some screens with sprite font textures (similar to the errors reported with v132 came out recently with sprite font etc). So there is obviously a few glitches in the system.

  • Czar, me too! Except everything worked well! :} (Galaxy S2, ICS)

  • Hi czar - where can I apply to get the new launcher?

  • EyeHawk, I didn't apply I was offered to try it. I just contacted Ludei through their website.

  • Try Construct 3

  • czar version 1.4?

  • bon4ire Carlos told me it was the latest version and included webgl.

  • I had sent a request, but so far nothing.

  • ^ Same - requested on their website

Hopefully we get at least some information even if it is that it will be delayed.

  • Yay! Just received a reply from them. If you want to test their work-in-progress player, just contact them on their site. It may take a couple of days to come through though.

  • Wow it's amazing! WebGL does indeed work on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (android)!

On very early tests, I have noticed that some of the 'heavier' effects such as glow, blur, warp and water slow down a simple scene to about 14 fps or so. However all of them work so it's probably a matter of picking the least resource expensive effects.

Now to try this out on my ipod!

  • I have been in touch with Carlos and sent him a capx that shows the bug that I had mentioned to him. I believe it is the same issue that v133 of C2 had recently. Anyway fingers Xed they can sort it and have a good new version available soon.

  • On a side note, Ludei secures $1.5 Million in funding.
