A pack of 76 platform designs for a platformer game with a mushroom/jungle theme
• Hay it's darklad i decided to finish the Platformer School tutorial that deadeye started a while ago and left an open invitation to finish it. anyways here's a link to the next one.

Platform school 6

Oh yeah and if anyone want's to request things for me to stick in it just ask. And I'll think about adding it, and most likely will.

• Cool you're working on it, but after few seconds I just noticed there's bug using ladder. If I jump on it and I'm holding up, the dude goes down, than up and.. it acts wierdly.

• Ok I'll have to look at that.

Thanks for posting the bug.

• Here's the fixed version sorry about the ladders I didn't realize they did that.

well anyways tell me if there are any more bugs. If you were wondering I forgot to tell it to turn the vector Y to 0.Lesson 6

• By the way if anyone wants to ask for anything in these tutorials I am open for suggestions.

• Anything for air/land dashing forward and backward?

• Most of what people keep asking for was done by Kayin 3 years ago, including air/land dash. The cap may need re-creating again in the newer versions of CC due to changes (such as keyboard events, DirectSound being deprecated, etc) but I've just had a look and the dash works. The thread is HERE. Hopefully of use to some people.

• Actually, I have tried Kayin's version but it's obsolete on the latest construct. I tried PMing Kayin but to no avail.

Hopefully dark would be able to explain.

• I think I got a fairly good dashing mode for the next lesson. I'll hopefully have it done soon. Probably in a couple of weeks anyways. I can't work on it next week so actually probably the week after that. Still plenty of work to do on it.

P.S. the level and messages need completed but most of the scripting is done.

• Please post if this was helpful or not I did have a pole running but apparently the updated construct website doesn't have a poll option.

• Thank you!!

• Not too bad, Darklad, but it needs more info.

For example, the ladders section simply tells you to look at what you did in the editor without explaining much. I think you should explain what each event in there does, particularly what the event set climb to 2 is for.

Same with the swimming section. It's functional in the demo, and you can see how you did it in the editor, but it's not explained very well at all. Again, I think a step by step process is needed here to say what each few subgroups of events do.

The enemy section is slightly better, but still not enough info. You should really reference which number events you're talking about, and direct people on which sections to go into in the editor.

If you fix these things, you'll be picking up right where the first five left off and it will be a great help to all the noobs like me!

• I'll try to do better at the next one that I'm working on. I'm not sure when it will be finished. Initially I thought I'd have finished fairly quickly. Unfortunately although the coding is easy for me to do. like you said I need to spend more time and the messages. Not to mention I have tons of junk I have to work on beside this. Anyways I'll keep this forum updated on when it should be released. And thank you for posting the constructive critism.

• I've been busy and things I had to get done but tommorow I should be able to start working on it again.

• Waiting for the next tut :D
