I have used 3dShape in a scrolling game, in looks really good but it blocks the GUI which is top layer with 0,0 parallax.
There is a new 2D rendering option for layers in the last update to avoid this problem, you should try it

You have to add an object with a z before the option shows up.

Then you can set the project 'Rendering mode' property to '3D' to force 3D mode. The default is 'Auto', which means to enable 3D if the project uses any 3D features.
