  • Unfortunately i couldn't integrate the concept of rotating layers and layouts on my current game. It just wouldn't play how i wanted. It was better in my case to just rotate the sprites normally. So good look for you guys that stay ! :D

  • Just posting my W.I.P. for rotary comp.A bit of a late start, but I am determined to submit SOMETHING. Looks like this competition just became a gamejam, part of 1. :|

Super rough, but here it is http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26730853/WR_Demo1/index.html

    Lemme know what you think

  • Small update:

    dl.dropbox.com/u/45711709/Hurl5/index.html

I've tried to incorporate deltatime to the physics so it's atleast playable on slower pc's.

Added some graphics instead of the blank tiles :D

    Still alot todo :~

  • the_chosen_byte amazing game! I really like it! Very creative way to use c2

  • 0plus1, Thanks! I got a late start, but I am hoping to pull it together... hopefully it will look really trippy when I am done! If I can wrap my head around deltatime, that'd be awesome too.

    EDIT: here's some art I've been working on...gotta edit/tweak/prep it a bit for C2.

  • this would count as a rotary game right?

    my game

all my games are silly and i think after a few finishing touches this will be great. my second game i guess, I still need some finishing touches on the first as well as this. also all my games are difficult. refresh when you lose btw to start over.

(sorry the link wasn't functional before )

  • this would count as a rotary game right? ...Maybe it would, but I can't tell - your URL gives me a 404 error. Please provide a clickable link in your post.

  • this would count as a rotary game right? ...Hmmm. Not obvious that you're rotating the layout or a layer. It just seems to be sprites rotating??

  • yes, would it have to be the whole layer? when I looked it up it said that characterized by rotation was the definition. I thought since all you really do is rotate that would work. Of course I might be mistaken, actually I probably am. I usually am lol. Also I got it on the arcade but its not working properly there, I'm trying to fix that atm. Nothing ever really goes according to plan it seems. But I deleted what that link goes to so it may not work anymore. I still have a version of the game without any pictures in it which oddly enough looks awesome.

  • yes, would it have to be the whole layer? when I looked it up it said that characterized by rotation was the definition ...

Well, Rule 2 of the Rotary Competition (and that's what this thread's about) says:

"Every game must make use of the system 'Rotate layer' or 'Rotate layout' actions. It must be an important feature of the gameplay and not just added on as an afterthought."

Sorry - your spinning ninjas look good (by looking bad).

  • > yes, would it have to be the whole layer? when I looked it up it said that characterized by rotation was the definition ...

Well, Rule 2 of the Rotary Competition (and that's what this thread's about) says:

Oh dang, I didn't even know that was there lol. Like I said I screw this stuff up a lot. All I can really do is learn from my mistakes I guess. Luckily I usually do. But my original idea for the game was actually supposed to rotate the layout not just a few guys, but I ended up changing it. Oh well, thx for clearing that up for me.

  • Hi!

This is my first post here, and my first project with Construct 2.

I have been playing around with CC a little bit before, but nothing to big.

Spending a few days now on a game called Grav Suit, that I hope I will be able to submit to this comp in the arcade.

Just finished the most important graphics and music. Still working on different levels.

Without going into much gameplay details I can say this: It is placed in space, got rotating levels, a gravity suit with a tractor beam and an astronaut trying to find his way out with his life intact...
