  • Well the movement definitely is that of the classic asteroids game. Looking forward to being able to blast some space rocks. :)

  • Nice, I think it would be cool effect if instead of whole background you would rotate just that transparent nebula thingy :)

Seconded, a spiraling galaxy animation in the background would be a nice touch.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the suggestions!

    I'll look on Google Images

for something that resembles your suggestions,

but after I collapse and sleep :)

    (been awake 24 hours now)

Are the two musics ok for this game?

How about the speed at which the player ship moves?

Thanks for your help, when Beta 1 is ready

I'll release the project as Open-Source GPL2 on the forum

for others to learn how to use "Construct 2"...

Music is fine in my opinion.

I would say if you could make it a little quicker to change directions, specifically when trying to go completely in the opposite direction that would be a welcome change.

  • Finally got my 500 Reputation points.

I've released Alpha 2 now and updated this post...

(much more work to be done - still learning "Construct 2" IDE

  • JeZLee, this is a great start! The overall package seems solid. The background FX are a very nice touch.

If this were intended to be more than a test project, I think it would benefit from a joystick control scheme, as pressing spacebar to shoot is noisy and awkward.

I have also just recently acquired a personal license for C2, and I have a microproject in mind to help me learn the ropes.

  • Great start JeZLee, brings back memories... only two things I would change but it is just my personal preference not a negative on your game!

    1. The players ship moves faster than their bullets. (I would think the bullets should be faster than the ship).

    2. The explosions, you may want to swap out the graphics on them and use a nice fade effect, maybe a couple frames of animation to get a better overall look for them?

    Great job!
