So the latest version has audio....

Right, so I got the latest version, thinking I could start adding audio to my HTML 5 game.

The one problem is that I haven't got a clue on how to import audio into my project <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Right click the sound or music folders in the project bar and click "Import".

EDIT - So I did that and imported a wav file, and it came with a failed to convert to ogg error. :(

Before you clicked import, what was the format of the WAV file? It should display it in the list. Unfortunately despite the fact WAV files all have the same extension, there's hundreds of different kinds, and the OGG converter only supports certain kinds. Anything which says "PCM" ought to work though.

What was the full description? It's always good to provide all the details so we're not left guessing! Maybe upload the file somewhere so I can try myself?

I have run into the same problem. The source WAV file's details are "PCM - mono - 16-bit - 8000 Hz". It fails to convert to OGG. I can send the file per PM if it's a bug and not a case of me missing the obvious (quite likely, it's just my third day with C2!).

(edit: I PM'd you the file, Ashely. Saves a step if it's a bug.)

I think the OGG encoder simply doesn't support such low frequencies - 8 KHz is pretty darn low. Have you tried using another tool to upsample it to say 44100 Hz?

I resampled the sound to 44100 Hz (and stereo), and C2 is now able to convert it correctly. :) (The nice part about learning C2 is that I learn all other sorts of things, like resampling sounds!)

Mivo: Why not just use a tool that specializes in converting sound files? Audacity it's a great free software that I use to convert sound files to import into C2 without a hitch.

I used a different sound editor for resampling the sound I had, but the one you linked looks better, and it's open source, too! Thank you. :) (I haven't manipulated sounds in a very long time, so this is all new again to me, which is what makes it fun!)
