  • Thanks!

Just gotta figure out why it only goes diagonally now :) (Unless thats's an IE issue)

Edit: Nvm fixed it. Thanks again :D

  • So, I've been trying to make an analog stick based around scirra.com/tutorials/398/touch-stick-controllers/page-3 so that people who play my game on a touchscreen have a half decent control method.

The implementation I have works perfectly in a modified version of the demo capx from page 5 of that link. I can move the player around (a spacehsip) in full 360 degrees and it moves.

However when I copied and pasted it over to the main game, I encountered a problem. The analog stick works fine on the game layer, however the problem with that is that then when I move the ship, the analog stick moves away. The problem is that when the analog stick is on the game UI layer, which is always onscreen, the Drag and Drop behavior used by the analog stick ceases to work. This is the case on IE10, and Safari on my iPad.

    I am using Constuct 2 r118.

Here are some links that might help out:

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Thanks!

Hmmm.... now why does the website not link to construct classic r2 -.-

  • So, I'm trying to make a very simple (but very tricky) platformer with construct classic, and something weird is happening. When the player falls of the screen, the game should reload the current level. Instead, the game crashes!

I have uploaded the .cap file to my google drive - you can find it at https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B8iWWAD-b_KnYWlOMU1sbkdIRHc

Any help would be much appreciated!

EDIT - Ok... now it does nothing when the player falls of the screen apparently!

  • Hey, I'm trying to do this in Construct Classic, and I couldn't find the "Color Fusion (Masked)" layer effect. So I tried to open your cap and I got this error

    ---------------------------

    Error loading application

Failed to load application: This file was saved in a newer version of Construct and cannot be loaded by this version. Please visit scirra.com to look for the latest update, or click 'Check for updates' on the ribbon bar.

    OK

What is this newer version of Construct Classic, and where can I find it?

  • Woah. That's rather good!

  • It was a PCM file

  • Not a bad little game. Simple, obviously, but pretty cool. I did have a little issue with the spaceship zonking out of control when I held the mouse button down and it reached the pointer; it might be better if it just stops when it reaches the mouse. Anyway, I've got my Android phone right here, so methinks I'll try the touch version too.

EDIT: Well, tried the touch controls on my phone and needless to say not even the basic movement worked correctly. Wondering if it's just the fact that a 4-inch screen might be a bit sensitive. :P

    Thanks for the feedback :D

I'll work on optimizing for phone (don't actually have a html5 phone to test on so yeah :D)

  • Thanks :D

EDIT - So I did that and imported a wav file, and it came with a failed to convert to ogg error. :(

    Why was this D:

  • Hi, just a little bump to say I updated the version on my website.

It has a couple new features:

    • A background!
    • The game over screen shows your score!
    • Added touch support!
  • Right, so I got the latest version, thinking I could start adding audio to my HTML 5 game.

The one problem is that I haven't got a clue on how to import audio into my project <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

  • So any actual comments on the game?

  • Java exporter?

    That would also be cool

  • Alt + Enter didn't work. Any other key or double also didn't work.

    F11?

  • If I press spacebar, firefox scrolls down the whole time :/.

Is there any way to fix it?

    Full screen?
