Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!
  • I know that Construct 2 is able to export files to be use of with Eclipse, in order to make an android .apk file playable on android devices. Looking into it, I can find little to know information on people actually doing this to make games available within the android market. The export that Construct 2 does sounds amazing, but what are the drawbacks to this?

Construct2 uses HTML5 to code the users games, but how well does it translate over when exporting for use with android? Is there still development to be made by the user to fix bugs? Does anyone use this at all? What are your experiences with using Construct2 and developing a mobile application?

I suppose I just want more info on this feature, coming from the users themselves. I would think converting a game's (especially a completed, complex game) language to a completely new language would cause inconsistencies and errors that might just be more of a hassel than to code from scratch. Any feedback is welcome!

in fact, when exporting C2 HTML5 to android via phonegap, cocoonJS or appmobi, you just wrap them with the browser, still they are browser depended apps, it's the same meat but in different box<img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle">.

one of biggest challenge for those methods, getting sound to play probably, lack of multi touch support, and bad frame rate performances, but things is quite different now than last year, HTML5 is improving and mobile started support hardware accelerator, it's a matter of time before thing became stable for HTML5 and Mobile.

their some promising examples made with C2 for Android, you can check them in your creations forum, like Furries and Jazzlebags Assgass<img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">.

  • i don't know why there is many questions about apps i feel something spam we have answered this question many time before as we said cocoonjs will do a cloud and will be the best way for now until there someone do something else.. matt198992 i hope you read the forum ^^

  • Check out CocoonJS and directCanvas. Neither are quite ready for production use yet, but they can both play multichannel audio, support multitouch, and run pretty fast. So hopefully it will be working great with these in the near future!

    Sounds amazing.

  • zsangerous:

I have searched through the forums about this and have found nothing pertaining to my topic. Maybe I overlooked something, but the way the Construct2 page explains it, it would seem that it would convert the html 5 game you made to a functioning apk or other mobile package. It seems this is not (entirely) the case.

    Ashley:

Thank you for the information! It is greatly appreciated! I look forward to working with these when they are fully developed! For now, I am interested in the HTML 5 aspect of things and want to learn a little about that, and the android possibility definitely piqued my interest. I think HTML 5 will be getting looked at more seriously soon (especially considering the Adobe announcing they are withdrawing from mobile flash development.

  • I have seen many games powered by Ludei CocoonJs in Google playstore.

Also, I've publish my demo game too in play store.

But the problem is, the games not support for SAVE GAMES.

I don't mind for that because we know Mario without save games still interesting too.. :)

But I hope someday Scirra Construct2 will support for save games via coocnjs.

You can check my demo games for android in google playstore.

    It's just demo for testing//

  • 29041982, I don't see why saved games wouldn't work. I haven't tried the save function itself, but I have used WebStorage many times, and it works perfectly on CocoonJS.

  • 29041982 - there was a bug that stopped savegames working on CocoonJS a month or two ago. It should now be fixed and working fine.

  • thanks for the reply.. I will test it now.. :)

  • thanks for the info, I'm happy that you say it works.

I will test it now, by the way . Im the new user in construct 2. I'm with construct more then 1 year now.

Maybe the save game that I made was error that's why it's not work when I save it. I will learn and search the tutorial for save games.

and I will study again about this part... thanks.. :)
