Cost plays a lot in whether a customer will purchase something or not. Sell it for too much, and people might think the price is too high but the quality must be good. Sell it for too little, and they'll wonder if something is wrong with it. You assume I'm not a business owner or have never sold anything. Opinions are like butts... we all have them. Some are just a bit poopier than others.

I think most of the clones you see is from small wannabe game devs who think they can make a fortune by creating a clone or a half-attempt game using a tutorial someone else made and then slap some ads in it and call it a day.

This assumption that Scirra is only going to have 100 people subscribe to C3 is silly. There are literally thousands of people who use C2 and will (probably) upgrade to C3 if it suits their workflow. The noise you hear in the forums isn't from thousands; it's a small minority of users. Sure, it looks like a mess in the forums because the minority is always the loudest. Scirra will do fine with their subscription, and if not, they already said they'd reconsider the amount. The noise just continues despite Tom and Ashley already reaffirming this stuff to everyone. Telling Scirra they'll probably fail to reach blah blah number of users based on some random guy's experience is nonsense.

Even if it's not something you're going to make use of, can you not understand that others might see benefits from it and it's a nice to have feature?
