  • Yeah! I was only able to watch the trailer and wan't able to see the first ep due to work. Is there any dedicated site where I can view every episode? (Beside youtube I think)

    The only reason I don't think esc should close preview window automatically, is because there's a pretty good chance you'll want to makethe esc key do something in your game, and then you couldn't test it

  • I'd say release the beta for free to a super small group of trusted people who have already played the game, and have shown themselves to be good feedback givers, or people local to you that you know personally. The idea here is that they're people who will actually take the time to feed back, and that towerclimb doesn't get released before you intend it to.

    also, I agree with newt. make it uber cheap, and try to sell more copies

    for instance, I think you will get more than twice the sales at $5 than you would at $10

    graphics don't make the game, but books are often sold by their covers.

    the three I mentioned also happen to be great games.

    the last screenshot I saw of towerclimb was in an uberretro, almost c64 style of gfx.

    it might have changed, and I don't doubt you could get the game a decent audience even with those gfx, but at $7 or more, I think you're going to greatly reduce the size of your audience

    I think the figures you mentioned would be good to be honest, for the final product, not the beta.

    it makes it an easy impulse buy, and also easy to recommend if it turns out to be fun.

    and in any case, no harm in learning another way

    here's two methods with either bullet behavior, or no behavior at all, and just the move sprite at angle method

    smooth movement is achieved by scaling speed to distance in both instances

    purple is bullet behavior, green is no behavior

  • I think the reason there are no extra subdivisions in the forums is because ashley wants to keep the forum neat and uncluttered. there used to be a python section, but it was barely used, and so it was removed. there's no need for a new creations section, because as someone said earlier there's not a huge influx of completed games.

    and an OMG WTF section.. this is the scirra msgboard. not 4chan. it seems clear that scirra is meant to be a casual/professional board. there are no overtly prohibitive rules. I for one don't want scirra to get cluttered with porn, racist humor, and shock videos. The community maintains its tone of friendly creative learning because of its basic common sense rules.

    Why must any section be changed? it went from new creations to OMG WTF, do we need to find something to change? it's fine the way it is.

  • I'm not at my pc at the moment, so forgive me if there's some obvious solution Id find by clicking around for a minute, but is it possible to advance 1 tick at a time, specifically to paste the screen to canvas and image manip save it to disk, before proceeding to the next tick
