  • Yes, it's noticeably nicer round here and I think my blood pressure has dropped considerably since the other day!

One very kind user sent us a hamper full of sweets, so at the moment we're all running on sugar

Chances are you spend more on pizza than software. At 8 dollars a month it's cheaper than a photoshop license (19/mo).

That's the part that worries me, just search "USD COP" in google. However I am still considering the subscription when I see any significant change in C3 over C2, I mean, they have made an amazing job porting C2 to a browser and improve some details but I was expecting something that blow my mind, anyway it will be really hard to find a great event system like construct have anywhere.

I have a question, I don't know if that was answered before, If I find C3 would be good for me in 1, 2 or more years, I will have the discount for having a C2 license by that time?

We're aware that $99 is affordable in some countries, and completely unaffordable in others. The payment system we're building is pretty sophisticated and will allow us to trial different subscription prices/billing periods in different regions. We're not launching with different pricing in different regions, but it's something we're capable of, and definitely looking to review on a region-by-region basis in the future.

  • Burvey is right, C3 currently in beta any everyone is on free edition. Options to upgrade and to exercise your discounts will come at end of the beta.

  • Yep is a placeholder, Paulo's doing some finishing touches to the C3 splashes which will be in one of the upcoming releases.

Was happy to be a bit more patient during the last few weeks because some people are upset with the large changes we're going through. Unfortunately now he's sent us a pretty nasty and threatening email and I'm having to spend a bit of time doing damage control on other forums he's trying to drag us through the mud on... all part of running an online business though! Fortunately this is a rare event

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, we are ready absolutely everything being posted right now (good and bad) and we are taking it all into account.

  • It doesn't work as a vector, is converted to raster.

Have you tried doing a hard refresh, clearing cache in https://editor.construct.net? That should do it... We're working on improving this as the caching/update is a little bit buggy.

    Alternatively, a direct link:

Well well... people on the internet... thinking they can post about anything - even personally attacking people when they are not on the same side of a discussion.

For anyone who missed the context, Lamar was back posting accusations that we're a scam company. Was willing to reconsider his ban at end of beta but not anymore. He's permanently banned now, account and IP address.

So Tom are you going to do anything about the members here trying to disrupt this thread or is that your plan to use them to drive me off the website?

People are watching and they see what is going on.

You're now banned for accusing me of trying to manipulate people into driving you off the website.

Everyone else feel free to continue discussing your thoughts on C3 so far.

    > Lamar, I thought you were leaving because you thought we disrespected you? It seems relentlessly for the last several weeks there's been an endless reel of negativity and questions from you.

Tom I have not been negative at all but I am realistic and this post is not negative and is getting good response.

I have games on the arcade and I help the members asking questions and I have people working on graphics for my game and I am a licensed user that still will be using C2 occasionally and I expect to get my updates.

I am certainly not the only one that has expressed not liking C3 but it seems you don't want anyone to express anything negative about C3 or asking any tough questions.

Sorry, but the endless reel of questions and frequent misrepresentations of what we say and do forces us to keep an eye on what you're posting and is starting to become a real drain on our time and resources.

We're fine with criticism, but your posts are coming off as purposefully aggravating, and attempting to whip up dissent and concern. At this point, I've just about had enough and we've shown you a lot of patience.

It's obvious Construct 3 is not something you're interested in. So, how about you move on and stop posting about it.

Have you considered that perhaps Construct 3 is not for you? If Construct 3 is not for you, maybe you should move on.

  • > It's really hard to do frozen updates. The free edition is always kept up-to-date, as it's really part of our marketing and we want to make sure there's the latest and greatest version for people to use. So this approach means for some users, you sign in and then it has to downgrade you to an older version than you're already running. If that downgrade doesn't work or is blocked, you get the latest update anyway. Plus I think on the off-chance there's a Chrome bug that breaks even just very old versions, currently that doesn't matter, but with frozen updates it will cut some people off. I think that would work out very badly: either we have to effectively fork our support and maintain multiple different versions of the codebase for essential fixes, which is a big drag on development, or we just tell users sorry, we're not patching it, and then I'm sure they'll get upset anyway because something they once paid for no longer works.

    >

    > It's a great deal easier and simpler just to keep everyone up-to-date.

    >

In my eyes this problem is simple to solve:

    - Just provide a frozen version for the offline edition only.

    - Keep only the newest versions supported. Warn the users that if they are going to use the frozen version, they won't receive support till they re-subscribe and update again.

This way you would solve the problems you mentioned in your post and also ease the souls of those who fear the lockout (myself included).

Customers would expect bug fixes, and retro fixes for breaking changes. This would be a headache to maintain. Secondly, support would become mired in difficulties with everyone running different versions.

  • Tom Fulp wanted to announce it much closer to the time, all will be revealed in due course

I'm locking this thread, lots of calls for it earlier and NotionGames seems to be happy for now. It's run its course and has descended into a never ending loop of unrelated questions again.
