  • Yeah it's how much gold you have. Each card has a random price.

You might need to refresh the browser, as there is now text instructions when you start the game.

  • thank you ilanfl!

i have now added in texts that explain things at the beginning, but in a way that is not obtrusive.

Because I spent so much time on it, I did the classic indiedev thing of not seeing something really basic in front of me, thinking that anyone would understand.

The first card: you can shoot the brown blocks before it, but I also understand that these look like walls, so you wouldn't think about shooting them etc. Will change.

The game gets very strange as you go along, fighting some strange enemies in strange scenarios :-D

Once again, thanks for the feedback. It is really appreciated.

  • THANK YOU for your feedback!

I suppose because I made the game based on some other games, I know what is supposed to happen, but no-one else does :-)

You have to collect all the cards to complete the game.

Scanline look is the built-in scanlines effect.

The poop shoot is meant to be random - but again, this only makes sense in my head I think.

  • Released fix for r389+:

    not all heroes wear capes.

  • I am making the world's first camel-vania about a camel that needs to find a golden tooth*

It's a platformer, adventure, a bit of a shoot 'em up, and also very, very bonkers (mad for Americans), where you fight skeletons, lightbulbs, gameboys, switch controllers, and more!

  • i'm working on my own Vampire Survivors clone (1114 - https://samuelbromley.itch.io/1114 )

...and I am wondering if anyone using C3 has completed a VS-style game, or started one.

It would be good to see things that they have done differently, but using the same engine.

  • Whenever I see negative comments about C3 (mostly from users of it), it dumbfounds me.

I am no sycophant, but I think that C3 is a brilliant piece of software that is extremely underrated both in the community, and out of it, too.

It is true that if a big enough influencer - or group of - showed just how great the platform was on youtube etc, then C3 would start to gain more traction.

I think from Ashley's participation in the forum, and the ability for us to create small-medium games pretty rapidly, that you would "miss it when it's gone".

I honestly don't care if anyone thinks my comments are too gushing, but we are very lucky to have an engine that hits the 'sweet spot' for so many. I've tried everything else, believe me.

C3 lacks 'something' tho, as most people have said. But for me, this 'something' is external factors, such as enough big dev/gaming/popular youtubers shouting about it, and some really strong games being championed - I have seen the same few games highlighted on the homepage for years now.

  • i am building such a game at the moment. the way that i am doing it (with very little cpu) is to make the items solid, but ONLY when they are within 200px of the player character.

this means that i save a HUGE amount on cpu usage, and i run at 120 frames with 150 enemies, bullets, and various other objects on-screen.

another thing i did (i am proud of this) is only make items solid when they are close to a bullet. you would think that this is CPU-heavy, but it is the opposite and makes the game run really smooth.

my game is not perfect by any means, but it's the best way that i have found to have so many enemies on screen while keeping FPS at 120, and CPU low.

  • this looks great.

could you make it so that you play an AI if there is no humans around?

  • I have used C3 for a few years at least and its never saved the layout for me...strange.

i have a super-ultrawide monitor, and usually have a layout on the left half of the screen, and the event sheet on the right.

Every time i open the app, it has never saved positions.

  • thank you.

  • I would like to dynamically list all the global vars in my game, so that i can keep track of them.

i know that i can use the debug mode, but i would like to see them in normal mode to.

i can see them in this image, but how can i get them into a text object?

  • nice work on this. just played the demo game.

  • excellent work, jonezpro

  • very, very good work here. nice graphics, great gameplay.
