  • Ashley, I was just about to ask about Global Boolean, and found this thread, It's 2017 and still there's no Global Boolean, is this ever going to happen, at least with plugin or something?

And you're working on Construct 3 but C2 is still with bugs.

I don't have a problem with the lack of Booleans since I like option of having more states than '1' and '0'

But yeah there still some bugs present. Even the "music" folder to this day serves no purpose. Music should still be placed on the Sounds folder.

Here's another one. Slightly more precise. Use 1 pathfinding and 1 bullet for a little more accuracy.

  • Hi Onur,

did you find a solution, yet? I'm struggling with the same thing. I'm really annoyed by the limitations of C2, I've installed like 50 plugins and still miss a lot of capabilities.

Hey Zooid. This is an old thread.

As for showing the path, I decided to go for it and here's a crude solution I came up with:

Path is not exact and there's a little wait time involved.

  • That's a great story and I'm glad to know there's someone out there who benefits from C2 interface!

While this isn't necessarily exclusive to C3 this is a reason to at least stick around and continue using C2 instead of a code-only interface.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • And just to add another layer to this topic, (just because I didn't wanna start a new topic that's so similar to this one) what makes for good horror these days? Like what is it that stands out as unique against the rest? So much has been done at this point.

Is it jump scares? Strange imagery? The mere possibility of a threat without there ever actually being a threat? I've noticed what I call "minimalist horror" seems to get a lot of attention lately.

Well the old SH games set the bar for psychological and plain horror combined and still hold up today story and atmospherewise but no longer gameplaywise. I love these games and one of them is in my top 5 for sure.

But a 'good' horror these days is associated with how many Youtubers/ Tvitch streamers play your game, as long as you managed to make them scream (even fake screams count) then you're good because that's t least enough to get a percent of their viewers trying your game. I mean why bother building a world and writing an associated lore with it if you're only going to get 100 players at most.

Go for the cheap scares route. You only need to work on graphics and searching for the best open source scream audio.

  • Hey guys.

I found something to inspire you for your horror game:

    Subscribe to Construct videos now
  • You're a life saver!

This thread was 3 years ago and following this advice you won't be able to put the icons properly.

Intel XDK has a new version that creates a folder for you to put the icons in outside of C2.

Export C2 to Cordova, create your icons and splash screen separately then when you try to add icons in XDk, click on any of the add icon options then XDK will create a separate folder for you to paste your icons in.

  • Do you mean jumping when he hits the floor or continuously jumping mid-air?

    For the first case it's

    Is on Floor |

[Button is Down] | Simulate control > Jump

  • Hello +rudemustache

It would be great help if you could post a small folio of your stuff so people can see if your musical style fit the games they're currently working on.

  • Haha MPPlantOfficial

That can be the title of the game.

  • You should make it harder.

Instead of saying 'jump' or 'ahh' have the user say 'motherf-----'

  • Followed. Will pm later if I have ideas.

    yò brò, me too

To be honest I think this thread is a last ditch effort to try and 'convince' the staff to switch the subscription model.

A passive-aggressive way since he said his previous posts (I did not read them all) were "pessimistic" and "rebellious." meaning he already tried the aggressive way and that did not work.

Why leave when C2 still exists and will continue to be supported?

He just wasted what he spent in C2 by walking away. I'm not just talking about the money spent but the time and energy given using the software.

but subscription is for C3 not C2.. C2 is still the same. with the 1 time payment. C3 is the subscription product... if you want to get it you get C3 and subscribe if not... keep the C2 license for life that will never change.

Actually my question to him is why switch to GODOT when C2 still exists. that's what he said in his OP statement.

Just because C3 is launching soon that doesn't make C2 any less powerful.

I myself will not get C3 but will still continue to use C2 and hang out here.
