  • Hello: I'd like to randomly choose an image from a set of 10, then drag it onto another image on screen and check if there is a match. I'm wondering the most efficient way to do this...can I put all the images in one sprite and randomly generate them? Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Perfect, thank you! I would have missed that. Somethings are easy, others need a lot of looking in places I would not have hidden them. Appreciated.

  • Thanks for these suggestions. I've tried 'load image from url' but have cross website issues... do you know if it's possible to use a relative path there and load the file from a local folder? Thanks..

  • I have two sets of hotspots (invisible sprites) on the screen. When the user clicks one of each I want to load a specific sprite based on a number (11.png, 21.png, 31.png, etc.). Can I do this?

The only ways I see are 'load image from URL' which is not working due to security issues, and possible using animation frames, however the images are big.

Ideally I'd just like to load an image from the local drive using a filename created on the fly with variables... 21.png, 31.png etc. If I could build the path to the sprite on the fly I could do this but I don't see how.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Got it, thank you!

  • Yes of course, thanks. Its easy when you know how...

Another question if you don't mind... is there a way to make this respond to either a mouse click or touch?

  • Hello:

I'm stuck on very simple things. I need clickable invisible hotspots on the screen. I've put a button but when it is invisible it doesn't work. So I've put a sprite and made it opacity 0, but how do I detect an event if the sprite is clicked or touched? I don't see a way to do this.

    Thanks for suggestions.

  • Thanks... I think I've got it now. Taking a day off and slamming my head against the side of the house several times helped. You need to drag a sub event slightly to the right under the main event, then you can add multiple actions for the event. I was looking for a way to do it on the actions (right) side but if a sub event is offset to the right under and event and included in the same block you can add multiple actions. Thanks for the suggestions.

  • I essentially need an 'if' statement on a list item.... I have a list of choices from a drop down box. The first event is 'on selection changed', and below that I have 'select item = 0', 'selected item = 1', etc.

But is looks like I can have only one action to the right of each 'selected item' event. When list item 2 is selected, for example, I need to execute a number of actions, not just one. I don't see any way to group or nest the actions to the right of each sub event.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks

  • Sorry... I think I've got it now...

  • Thanks... but how do I use a 7z file? powerarchiver cannot open it.

  • This is probably very simple but I'm missing it. I have a sprite which is an arrow. I want the arrow to move along a line and stop to indicate how much gas is left in the car. I'm trying the Size and Position actions (this triggers when the user picks something from a drop down list) 'set position', 'move forward' or 'setX' 'setY'. All of them move the sprite, but it keeps moving off the screen. How can I just get it to move to where I want it and stop? It's like is running over and over again.

    Thanks!
