    So why post now ?

There is no date for C3, for all we know, it is years away from being released.

It was on my mind, I feel like I needed to put it out, took me a lot of bravery, do you approve of how i'm asking with this?

I wanna make sure i'm not being dumb.

  • I'm going to be needing a team of 7 including my self, So i'm gonna need 6 more people.

2 Graphic designers,2 Story editors, and 2 Audio designers.

WARNING: I AM MAKING A TEAM TO MAKER MICRO TO MEDIUM GAMES, YOU WON'T BE PAID,

THESE ARE FOR FREE DISTRIBUTION, POSTING HERE WILL MEAN YOU AGREE TO

    THIS STATEMENT!

The team will be put into action when construct 3 is out, I will be using Slack to communicate through to all who want to join, you must have your email to join.

    My team name is timeandtime.slack.com.

Post down below what you want to be in the team and i'll keep a look out.

I hope we can make fun games together as a team, thank you.

  • That's also up to you. I encourage you to learn by doing. Once you dive in, you'll find answers to these types of questions on your own.

    Okie dokes

  • That's up to you, but I would definitely use a different layout unless I designed the game with seamless transitions between exploration and battles (e.g. chronotrigger).

Should I separate event sheets for the battle? As to change the background and divide it easier so I can concentrate better?

  • Rather than waste your, or anyone else's time you should search the forum for specific topics.

Barring that there is the tutorial section, and the store may have some templates.

Otherwise your questions are far too generic.

If you want suggestions ask more specific questions.

You can start by answering your post to yourself. How would you attempt to start all those things?

I see what you're getting at, though going to the store is a "no show", thanks for the advice, one question.

Starting a battle sequence, should I go to an entirely different layout, or use pictures on the same layout?

  • Battle layout. How do I make it look natural, Do I use a different lay out or the same.

Using the same lay out would mean using pictures and objects.

And would it be better to have a separate event sheet for it?

  • Try to use "System - Compare two values", CurioJoe.

    Should work perfectly.

    Thanks, I figured it out.

  • How do I make the same copy of an enemy but still have them do their own thing,

Like a separate mind from others.

Otherwise, having multiple enemies on screen at once, moving and all, not in unison.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Very simple example:

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/485 ... ehind.capx

Wow! This is simple! Thank you very much!

  • Or you could play around with the Z-Depth if they were on the same layer.

I.e. When player in front of enemy -> Send player sprite to front of layer

When player behind enemy -> Send enemy sprite to front of layer

I tried doing something like that but it didn't seem to read correctly.

    EXAMPLE:

    Every tick_Player.Y>Enemy.Y_Move to bottom layer,

    Every tick_Player.Y<Enemy.Y_Move to top layer.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Trying to make a beat em up game, how do I show the player when it is in front of the enemy,

How do I cover the player when it is behind an enemy?

Or show an example of multiple enemies at once some behind the player, some in the back, I really need

    help with this.

  • Different layers ?

    I wanted to try "Z-Order" but it doesn't seem to be working for me;

I'm comparing the height/Y axis of the enemy to the player, that's not working.
