  • Dodgy Dog is not meant to be a Flappy Bird clone, glad you liked it There are 100 levels total. I'm excited to see if someone is able to beat the game and how long it will take this to happen.

  • Thanks to all for the feedback!

Yes, I might consider adding sound effects in version 1.2, good point! Maybe Google Play leaderboard in 1.3, who knows

Small annotation: Performance might temporarily decrease as I have to rebuild Dodgy Dog with Crosswalk10. But I will restore the current performance level as soon as possible

  • I also need the Crosswalk 7 Open SSL Fix STRONGLY. Google Play texted me, stating that my current app (build with Crosswalk 7) might get removed because of this issue - this is terrible!!!!! The alternative is using Crosswalk 10, which has terrible performance...

  • I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android Version 4.1.2. First, I used Crosswalk 10 to build.

Now I decided (just like mercedescolomar) to disable banner ads and build with Crosswalk 7 and now the performance is good. I guess a link to my apk won't help you, because I didn't do anything fancy in 2 besides preloading the banner and then showing it. But thanks anyway!

  • Updated to version 1.1, featuring:

    - Better performance, now running smoothly!

    - Bigger buttons

    - Smaller file size

Please give it a try and tell me whether you liked it or not

  • Hi,

my current project is running smoothly at 60FPS, on C2 preview as well as on my smartphone. The moment I add the admob object to my project, I encounter a drop of FPS in the fully exported app and sometimes a little lag (while in C2 preview everything still works fine). This is the case even when my smartphone is offline and can't even receive any ads, which makes me wonder why this happens.

I am using Intel XDK to export to android via crosswalk. A few other posts stated that the FPS drop is caused by the fact that in admob, text ads are enabled. So i disabled them, showing only image ads. It didn't change anything.

Is there a way to avoid the FPS drop? It's really a pity because I dedicated so much work in making the game run smoothly.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hi cranberrygame ,

will your admob plugin work when I use Intel XDK and export it to Android (not to Crosswalk for Android), or are there any known issues?

Do you recommend using Crosswalk? The admob plugin is really decreasing my FPS (I assume the official C2 admob plugin is the same plugin as yours?).

  • Dodgy Dog is about to hit the Google Play Store!

  • Alright, that's what I thought. If anyone disagrees, please comment!

  • Can't test this by myself with real ads right now, so simple question to the community:

When I'm preloading banner ads on start of layout 1 (using the admob object), then immediately go to layout 2, will 'On banner ad received' still trigger in layout 2?

Will using 'Show banner ad' cause any problems, when I use this command in layout 2 while the ad is still being preloaded?

Will using 'Show banner ad' cause any problems, when I did not preload any banner at all?

    Thanks!

  • Great, thanks for the info!!
