does it have to be a non-commercial board design? you know, like not transformers, spawn or guns & roses.

i thought about submitting a design but i do not know if i could get it done in time.

the option of flat or perspective is great.

I would prefer generic themes because of copyright issues but if you come up with a fan game theme send me a sample and I will consider if I can include it as an example.

magnetron runs great on my ipad pro.

a problem i ran into was that after using the plunger to fly the ball, i then had to get ready on the flippers. because the buttons were so high up on the board i would sometimes miss them because i was watching the ball. that would lose focus on the window. then i would have to refocus the window and things would get awkward as far as tracking the ball.

if you made two invisible buttons that covered both sides of the board then the player would not have to worry about where they tapped. of course you would have to make sure it did not over lap the plunger button.

    Thanks for testing that Harrio!

Yes I noticed the same thing on my tablet so I will rework the button placement.

I will also make them disappear if not using a touch screen so not annoying.

I put out a request for some artists to design some layouts and graphics and hope that comes through but if not I will start making new layouts next week. Been focusing on Platform Game Builder and pretty burnt out.

  • Looking great! Did you get the issue with snapping of new tiles figured out? It looks like it from the image above.

Actually that is how I want the layouts so you don't have to have perfectly straight tiles. The player can still maneuver over them but I may add a snap feature.

When you zoom in and edit in the play mode you can fix any tiles that are out of line.

I still have to get some enemies working correctly tomorrow and then this one is about ready.

Backgrounds and music can all be changed to suit the designers mood and I need to add a title screen maker.

I will do one of these for RPG game building next but not for awhile.

  • Might want to make the glass slightly hazy for effect and very light blue or gray would work. Adds more depth when the screen clears to what is under neath I think.

  • I need several good Pinball layouts with graphics for my Magnetron game. Will also need same for Pinball Sandbox but those must be 3D and correct angle so I will get a layout set up for that.

  • I am in need of several Pinball layouts with graphics for this game and I will pay for that assistance.

  • OK I have been working for two days on a huge update with over 200 objects, tiles and enemies for this Platform Game Designer.

Finding enough good tile sets in public domain was not easy.

Just about have everything working and just need to do movements for enemies and add in a few moving objects and I think I will get a new version with everything you see below up tomorrow- I hope!

  • Now this is a huge inventory to manage and most items have multiple animations and behaviors.

  • Here you go using a sprite.

Capx is available on that link. Uses 13 simple animations and you can make your own more detailed.

  • I would use a sprite that is large enough to cover entire layout.

Start with a blank animation and then have lines for cracks radiating out from the center in a few frames and then have those solid pieces falling down in the next frames until it is done.

Probably could do it in 20 frames or less.

I will work on a sprite and see how it looks.

  • I use sprites for my inventory boxes and place holders and just move them on to the game layout when called for and off when not in use.

You can use another layer for that same purpose which is probably easier but I rarely do things the easy way just they way I know works lol!

Added: I just spent two days creating an inventory for my Platform Game Builder that has over 200 components. I set the inventory at the bottom of the layout and use scale when I want to expose it.

  • would like to help more sincerely but I am afraid I'm short of time. ;(

So am I which is why I threw this out there. If I don't get any layouts I will do it myself when I get caught up on things.
