  • I'm sorry. I'm still stumped. I just spent another 3 hours and went in circles and accomplished nothing. Here is what I did:

I added AdMob to my Construct 2 game.

    I saved it as a html5.

I then went to Cocoon and compiled it as "Google PlayStore (Android)."

I uploaded the game to Amazon. The game plays but no ads.

I then went back to Cocoon and then selected "MoPub" under ads services... then I read that I have to visit "MoPub" and set up an account there just to get "Admob" to work. I spent more time trying to get that to work on MoPub.. but no success.

Um.. I'm sooooo sorry to be a pain.. but could somebody PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE provide some super duper simple directions on how to get ads to display on Amazon in a game that I make using Construct 2. It seems the whole planet can do it, but I can't seem to figure it out.. and I've lost track of how many HOURS I've spent trying to figure this out. Thanks enormously.

  • JLH1964: I'm sooooo sorry.. but I'm still a bit confused. Here is where I'm at:

    1. I created my game in Construct 2

    2. Thank to your help, I incorporated AdMob into my Construct 2 game.

    3. I then exported the game in construct 2 using "Html5"

But now how do I create a "Google Play APK"?

I THINK I use the program 'Intel XDK' but I don't see any way to 'build' anything that says "Google Play APK." I see options to build for "crosswalk for android" "Android" "IOS" and "Windows 8." Or do I use 'cocoon' to make the conversion?

So what am I missing? How exactly do I convert my Construct 2 game (that I converted to html5) into ""Google Play APK" that I can then upload to Amazon?

Thank you greatly soooooooooo much in advance. There is noooooo way I'd figure this stuff out on my own.

  • I'm obviously a novice at this stuff so please tolerate my likely silly question:

A while back I managed to create a game on Construct 2. I then somehow exported it, used Cocoon and then some how uploaded it successfully to the Amazon App store where people can download and play the game successfully. I 'm still not sure how I got it all to work.. .but I did..

I now see that the newer version of Construct 2 has a "one click" export feature to the Amazon Appstore... But I'm a bit confused. When I click the "export" to "Amazon Appstore" it basically just saves the nearly identical same files/folders that were made when I exported to a html5 website.. so what exactly does this export to Amazon do? Must I still go to the cocoon website? What exactly did I just accomplish but selecting the Amazon Appstore option?

Likewise, I'm also trying to figure out how to incorporate ads into my games for the Amazon App store and only just discovered that AdMob doesn't work with Amazon.. So if you have any easy way to incorporate ads into the Amazon app games, PLEASE do let me know that also.

  • JLH1964: Oh Geeesh. you are going to hate me, but I just started to follow the instructions you provided.. which are GREAT... even I could understand them. Hence, I THINK I properly installed the AdMob into my game. However, since I can't see the ads on a website, I figured I would try and upload it to Amazon and see if the ads are displayed there on their app store page.. I have now discovered, however, that Amazon doesn't use the Admob advertising.. I TRIED to then learn how to use the Amazon ads, but got totally confused all over again. This is the tutorial page Amazon provided me with:

    https://developer.amazon.com/public/api ... %20Project

Um.. I'm soooooo sorry to be a pain.. but is there an EASY way to incorporate ads in my construct 2 game using Amazon? (Likewise, if you have a suggestion for where to upload my game for Android devices that does use AdMob please let me know that also).

Thanks soooooooooo much in advance. I have no idea how you guys figured all this stuff out. My brain already hurts.

  • Thanks for the info... Yup, I see it is VERY easy to add adsense to my html webpage. No problem there.

However.. I'm trying to figure out how to ad "admob" inside my Construct 2 game but I can't seem to figure out a way to do it. Is there a tutorial somewhere that makes the process somewhat easy to follow because I'm at a loss.. I can't figure it out.

    Thanks greatly in advance.

  • I'd like to incorporate Admob into a game I'm making. I see I simply right click and select "insert new object" and then pick "Admob" under monitezation. And then once my game starts, I have it display my ad.

However.. how the heck do I set up a admob account? I already use Adsense on my webpages, and google says I already have an account for "Admob" but of the life of me, I can't figure out an EASY way to set it up in my game. Basically, for web pages, I simply copy/paste some text into my html web page and bam -- my website automatically displays google ads.. but how do I do it using "admob" ?

Is there a simple tutorial somewhere? I went to this page on google, but it seems waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too complicated:

    https://developers.google.com/mobile-ad ... uick-start

Any help would be ENORMOUSLY appreciated. I searched the forum for a step by step tutorial for a dummy like me, but I couldn't find anything that I could follow easily. Worse yet.when I visit the above website for admob on google, I got even more confused.

IS THERE AN EASY WAY TO SET UP ADMOB IN A CONSTRUCT 2 GAME?

Again.. I already use adsense for web pages so I HOPED it wouldn't be much more confusing.. so perhaps I'm missing something?!

    Thanks greatly in advance. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

PS: Supposedly I must now download "Android Studio" from this website: https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html and/or do all kinds of confusing stuff on the admob website!?. Hopefully I am missing something just to have me include some ads in a game I'm making. I'm totally stumped.. but from the looks of things, I'm starting to think figuring out how to incorporate 'admob' into Construct 2 is massively confusing -- which seems silly to me. I MUST be missing something. Right?

  • Hi... I just purchased the latest version of Construct 2.

I tried to export my game to Scirra arcade but it says:

"Sorry! This version of Construct 2 cannot export to the Scirra Arcade. A new version of the arcade should be released in the near future."

I was just curious if everybody has this problem.. or perhaps my new purchase/install is getting confused from an older freebie version I had installed previously.

I also do NOT see any export ability for Wii U, facebook, etc.

    I am using Release 195 (64 bit)

    I'm attaching screenshots...

  • Yup. I'm having the same exact problem. I'm receiving multiple emails each and every day titled "New Bundles in the Scirra Store! - Scirra.com." This really is nothing more than spam at this point -- but more than likely is an unfortunate glitch. It would be great if the prices changed, but its literally the same exact info several times every day.

Ironically, I've been waiting and waiting for the program to go on sale like it did last January... since I'm a novice and not interested in bundles, but it still hasn't gone on sale. Even more ironic, "Clickteam Fusion 2.5" went on sale recently on Steam so I just bought it for $33.99.

If Construct 2 ever goes on sale for a similar price, I'd buy it.. but I just don't want to spend $129.99... which explains why I'm currently on the mailing list.. but if these spam messages keep happening, I may just remove myself from the mailing list and give up on my hopes for a sale.

  • I'd like to create a simple little program that will allow users to enter 5 different email addresses of their choosing, and then SAVE that list of 5 email addresses.

Then.. when the user clicks on the button/email address, it will email that person with a pre-determined message.

I can't seem to figure out how to allow the user to enter their own data (i.e. email address) and then have the program SAVE it for future use.

    Any ideas?

  • Is there an easy way possible to create a game/app so that when a person clicks on a button, it will send a text message to somebody's phone?

I see that I can have a particular webpage loaded, or an email sent, but I can't figure out how to have it send a text message. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Newt: I'm sorry to be such a novice.. But could you give me a quick sample of how to do it. I THINK I click on the 'browser' and then type in"

    mailto: ?

If so, what do I type in to have the subject filled out? Any idea if there might be a sample capx file that I could take a peek at? Many thanks.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I see how easily it is to create a website 'link' in a game so that when a person clicks on it, the game brings them to a website.

Is there a way, however, to have the game instead enable the person to send an EMAIL from the game? For example, when a person finishes the game, I'd like for the game to send me an email to me (at my designated email address) with the subject filled in -- and also possibly enable the user to include a little message in the email. Is this possible? If so, how do you do it easily?

    Thanks in advance.
