  • Hey guys,

As I said, I am looking for someone with good experience of C3 and C2. This project is already under development with C3 so you would need to be ready to go with this. A portfolio of C2 games would be fine but I do need to see some examples of finished games.

This is for a client project I am currently working on. This is for a well known brand so would be a good boost for your portfolio and if we worked well together, there would be more good work down the line.

    Project

I would need you to work on key features and to help crunch bugs near the end. The game is a beat em up in the style of streets of rage, etc but with slight metroidvania elements. I would need you to work on programming additional enemy types, some of the boss battles and building levels. I already have the core of the game finished, including the combat system and enemy AI. You would need to use this and expand on it to introduce new enemy behaviors. Should be around 2 months of work but not sure yet.

I have a set budget for this and would be paid out as you complete milestones.

Please go to www.headfizz.com and use the contact form there to let me know your interest, please include a link to your portfolio or some games you have made with C2/3. Or just email me on admin -AT- headfizz.com

    Thanks!

  • Hello,

I am looking to hire someone for a project I have just secured. I will post about this in the job offers section shortly but want to see if this is even possible. Anyway it would be paid work for someone who has finished a few projects with c2/c3 event sheets.

I went ahead and started my current project with C3, as it feels like it is in a decent place and I like how it now handles text over C2.

However, I am not sure if it is possible to collaborate online? If so, how would I go about this? Is it even possible to use an SVN/subversion controls with C3? I'm currently using the desktop version, so maybe I can use the folder structure for this? Maybe it would be a good idea to get them to work on a different source file and then copy over the things they have coded? If I just got them to work on one feature at a time?

Any advise would be super appreciated!

Edit: I probably should have put this in "How Do I...?" Sorry!

    Excellent work. Much better.

  • +1 from me as well.

I would love to move into the desktop market and features like this would make C2 the ideal engine for me to do this.

  • Thanks for the great replies everyone, much appreciated.

I must say, it really is a plus to have one of the main devs post here, so thank you for that, Ashley.

From what I can see, C2 still has a ways to go in some respects, however, I think it could fit my needs quite well in the near future. I have some flash projects to finish up and then I'll jump in and see what I can do with it. Maybe I'll try porting over some of my more financially successful games to HTML5 to test the waters (seeing as I already have all the assets and design work done) and learn how the eventsheet really works.

From my perspective at this stage; I wouldn't make this my main toolset until there are more ways to turn a profit (especially from android ads). It is certainly on the right track though if this is something you're aiming for.

Interesting to hear that about possible stability issues. I've played around with the free version quite a bit but haven't come across anything to serious yet.

In terms of performance, I just tested a webgl project on one of my really old, low-end test laptops and it worked pretty well. Far better than Flash has ever achieved on that system anyway.

    Thanks again!

  • Hello folks,

I am currently looking into buying C2 but would love to get some more solid ideas about it's future. I have spent the last 6 years working solid with flash and am either looking for a new toolset or to stay where I am.

I have played around with Unity quite a lot, which I enjoy but I really would like to focus more on design, narrative and art instead of coding, which is why C2 appeals to me.

The thing is though, I need to make money out of this. I will be doing it full time, aiming for as many platforms as possible.

I would love to work on console games in the future, such as WiiU, xboxone, PS, Ouya (and any other android console). So I am wondering if C2 is heading in this direction? Do you think the dev team will target these platforms eventually? It seems to be getting a lot of solid updates but I have yet to read any concrete info on plans for the future. The next gen consoles are gearing up for indies, so I need a tool set which will allow me to sell on them.

On another note, is it possible to make a living with C2 if you're full time, producing quality games? I know this is a broad question but are people making good money yet or is this just a toy for hobbyists?

    Thanks guys!

  • Hello everyone ^^ Will soon be getting stuck in with C2 and the community. I'm coming over from the flash sponsorship market where I was quite successful. I have quite a lot of experience with AS3, so I'm hoping that picking up the events in C2 will easy enough.

It looks like the ideal toolset, as I want to move away from coding and focus more on design, narrative and art.

If anyone has any advice to getting started, I would really appreciate it!
