Thanks. Regarding the 2nd half of my question about the secrets, when I was using AES-CBC in the Forge plugin, I had some trouble dealing with them safely. In your official release, are they in the Js code produced by the application? If so, can't rely on it too much for security? Can we "pair it up" with a standalone secret management service? I assume you thought about it, which is why I ask :)
Encryption is finally built-in, cool! I have some questions. What types of encryptions are supported, and how are secrets kept? I used the Forge JS plugin before, and dealing with secrets was hard (I was also inexperienced).
I really look forward to this project because I feel like I've pushed ES to their limit and some of my game don't run well on mac architecture. I hope with JS they will run better. Anyway, sorry about the backlash you got for this series. As a long term supporter of C3, I personally feel like it will be a very interesting project to follow. Theres some stuff thats just cleaner to do in plain code as well like playing with for loop indexes, just to quote a quick example. Is there a place to start understanding how to connect JS with C3 objects ? I feel like I've missed that tutorial somehow.
These adjustments to the project folder... Are you guys creeping towards integrated version control? That would be awesome.
Great !! On the topic of Functions, could you add bold or a small icon for Return function... they are hard to see sometimes.
I don't know if it works as intended. I can't jump far enough it seems. The character doesn't jump more than like 0.5 cm on screen. Played on Firefox.
Fair enough.
A thought: To make Animate truly an interesting offer for me (currently, I'm not sure I would actually subscribe to it), have you considered developing a non-video "Save" format for these animations. Call it .c3anim and make that importable and usable into Construct 3. I don't know if it would be actually possible but it seems like it would be cool and allow compatibility between both software.
If Animate had a few more animation-specific features on top of that, and I would really start to consider it. One area of improvement would be the image editor which is pretty basic in Construct 3. Perhaps the timeline UI could also be expanded further for Animate.
Anyway, thanks for your hard work.
I would much prefer Animate to be an extension like you did with the JavaScript coding. Just don't make it free, make it a one time buy. Thanks.
Templates are going to be super useful, excited to see them in the stable build 😃
Would it be possible to implement animated tiles for tilemaps or is that not in the work ? Thank you
Also (max 1000 words) there is this problem :
- If you set the objects to faces on the instance 0 of a 3D shape and create the same shape on another layout, the faces won't use the texture object. The texture object for each face has to be present on the layout where the 3D shape are spawned into... No other object in C3 has this peculiarity. You can't use Set face to object if the object isn't on the layout where you placed the 3D shape... It should be possible if the faces are on one layout at least ?
I noticed a few bugs with 3D Shapes that should be fixed quickly :
- Impossible to use LineOfSight to a 3D shape, I feel like it should work like a 2D sprite (on an image point on the Back face).
- Can't adjust image point for 3D shape (necessary for some tiled games workflow to use snap and corner image point).
- Opacity on 3D shapes makes some faces glitchy, for example I you reduce the opacity by 1 from 100 to 0 and then do the reverse, some faces won't show the opacity properly during and after the changes.
Also, generally, I feel like layers should be "2D" until you had a 3D shape into it. Idk but I feel like 2D and 3D layers interaction with one another is not clear (at least for me).
That's all ! Thanks, I'm really trying to use 3D shape in a project so that's the hurdles I encountered.
Are the password-based key-derivation functions included with this plugin. Thanks.
Just because it isn't flashy doesn't mean nothing new is being added
Plus, all the tools are there to make any kind of 2D games already
Can you make a tool to write to a pre-existing SQL Database and pull data ?
