  • Is it normal for the Share obj to only share either text (&URL) or image, not both? Using the example project from C3 and tested on Phone & PC -> share to X or when Email.(Web game in preview and tested on website.)

  • Is there a way to export / import Timelines? Specifically I have in mind creating short clips with the timeline then exporting them out, able to be downloaded by a player and imported in. The events would add sprites to track idea and voila!

Sort of imagine an "as json" option for exporting either in editor or runtime?

  • I noticed with Animate exports if you re-render in OpenShot or KdenLive -> then Insta it works fine. (Not in Premiere Pro though!)

I've found Animate to be an excellent tool in developing "randomized" content, kids videos and animated splash screens. But sometimes quality exports can get tricky to say the least!

Regardless, best of luck with your future endeavors - many of your posts come up over the years and helped out greatly!

  • Same thing happening to me, export settings don't seem to change anything either. (Minify, etc.)

  • Maybe try to export without minify.

  • Hey, I'm glad you liked it! Still beta and plenty of bugs I'm sure, ha!

Bug - Didn't know about the arrows though!

Feature - Yeah rolling over the debuffs avoids them

Big Bug - Windows crashing? I haven't heard about that one yet, mind letting me know which windows OS you're running?

  • The Ranger is a tactical roguelite, for Windows and Android, focused purely on the tactical side of combat. No gear, no min-maxing, just you and a ton of enemies.

Google Play / Steam to come, just a lot quicker releasing on itch.

Let me know what you think!

  • Yeah, I've run into a very similar problem with my Chromebook as well as a few of my client's. It's unlikely able to be fixed by C3, and Google has ignored my bug report. The only workaround, is as you've said, using Firefox or another browser. If you use the Google Play mobile Browser, installed through the app store - it works as well.

  • Here's a baseline dropbox.com/s/epnp1zd0ljrwc5j/car_MoveTo_roads.c3p

It would need more conditions for the intersections.

Although I would look into bounded drag and drop addon/behavior instead of the moveTo if it's always requiring user drag input. Or even the tween behavior, I feel gives you more control.

  • Looks like it's because at the corners it's overlapping 2 different roads at the same time, you'll need to add in additional condition/s to make the difference. Perhaps after overlapping add Pick Nearest - but that'll depend on the origins.

  • Not exactly sure whether you're looking for game design resources, art resources or "follow" along tutorials for games besides Platformers?

C3 can handle most games without a doubt, but it sounds like the student is ready to actually plan out a more fleshed out game. The next step would be creating a Game Design Document. Breaking down exactly how she'd like the game to be played from the look, game mechanics, start/end, GUI, etc! There's a ton of resources online for game design and they are all universaly applied to all game engines.

Once the GDD is established, then figuring out how to make "XYZ" in C3 will be a lot easier as you'll have an idea of what to search for on the forums/tutorials/google exactly. Just be sure to really break down the GDD in how she'd like each step of the game to be played out. ex. What will the controls be? What animations? What type of Puzzles? What kind of action?

Alternatively! Have her re-create some of her favorite mechanics or scenes from any of her favorite games. Copying is a great way to learn, and again gives you a point of reference when learning C3 and searching for something specific. How was THAT specific mechanic / scene in Florence created? Once it's broken down into bite size chunks you'll see how easy C3 really is when making most 2D games.

  • Maybe the sprite's Z elevation or any 3D changes.
