  • Day 15 is upon me and here is entry number 20 of my #90daydev challenge...

Digit Dash - Race your finger! (or mouse)

  • I'd love to know, for me it's the ultimate in creative playground, I'm bloody good at it and I've been doing it for over 20 years. It's a question Rami Ismail asks in his most recent talk as his company Vlambeer, and a question we should keep asking ourselves, as I'm sure the dynamics change over time.

I ask, because last night (as you do), I wrote a blog post on my website, an honest account of "Why I nearly quit game development" in the last month or so for good and thought I would share it with you all. Read it here. I know I'm not the only developer out there who's struggled and I hope it resonates or helps even just one of my fellow developers.

So, why do you make games?

  • It's day 14 and heres my entry #19.. the quickest one by far in at around the hour mark.

  • Thank you Vicki, entry #18 will bring me to 20% completed! VickiGameDev

My latest entry is number 17... a simple game at heart that the initial idea for didnt translate very well. Ended up with a pretty decent game for up to four players in the end. The first alien to reach the center of the earth wins.

    Race To The Core

  • thanks Herks took me around 4-5 hours

IndieKiwi - awesome thank you so much for the kind words, and on that note! One closer now, as its day 11 and I've just finished entry #16

Calcul8 - the most unforgiving calculator! Made in around 2 hours.

Touch the numbers till the goal number = 0. Mistakes mean the score (m+) will get reset. The goals get progressively harder. More numbers used = bigger points.

  • Day 10 and I've just finished entry number 15 to a level I'm comfortable with for demonstration purposes. This is definitely a project from my #90daydev that I will be taking further!

Dungeon Tactics is my spin on a dungeon-crawler-rpg-type-game-(prototype). Arrow keys to move. Match tiles on the game board to attack, replenish energy, health & more!

  • Hi Dasat you could simply use the [System -> Save] action when they make changes and then [System -> Load] action on startup

  • Thank you for sharing inquiesco - great post.
