Both of these big complex games run absolutely brilliant on mobiles, even older phones. Theres no issue performance wise in general, but things like WebGL shaders are to be avoided on mobiles.

If you can come up with some witty lines, like taunts from pirates or police or just funny conversation one space trader says to another as a greeting, I would include it into the game and credit you in it.

  • WOW. This game is fantastic, it brought back a lot of my nostalgic youth in school learning mario typing games, endless runner types. The faster you type, the faster you run, if you made a typo, your char trips over.

Your mechanics are great and fluid, I believe if you polish the graphics a bit more, make the UI/score flashier (more pop!), it will be a favorite game for many a kids and even adults who want to practice typing.

  • DARTH Crusher

Thanks, I've always enjoyed the random chatter in Wing Commander Privateer so its definitely a must to have these interactions, you are right it adds to immersion.

Here's a few NPCs in the game, they have a LOT of random quotes which they will use depending on the situation and your current standing with their faction. They also offer rumors that provide some info on the background story/setting of the game.

    Some of my favorite lines:

Pirate Taunt "Plundering is like making love. It's not what you do, but what you say as you do it."

Traders "A long haul with a cargo full of Flesh Dolls... hmm, it does come with a self cleaning mode."

If you guys want to throw some funny taunts, pirates at player, or traders or police etc, feel free to give some suggestions. If I use it, I will put your name in the credits.

  • This is a little game that I've been working on for a month now. Its a 2D adventure platformer. My goal is to create a great setting and atmosphere but it takes alot of time...

Definitely sense the gloomy mysterious atmosphere, whatever you are doing, its spot on!

Hey thank you very much, actually to tell the truth I have previously worked at a couple of studios. I left to do my own thing, So I guess technically this is a professional project. I'm going to be registering a company in the coming weeks.

I knew it, the art is incredibly polished and its something I haven't been able to reach yet. I actually learnt how to draw last year, by learn, I mean pen to paper playing around. hehe.

Construct 2 + Natural Artist = great combo, will lead to good things for sure.

It's a platformer/adventure game with quests and everything. I'm eventually going to pop it on steam.

Looks really good, you must be a natural professional artist.

  • No I havent released any on Apple yet since I am not satisfied with its performance and handling of larger games. The only games I want to release are big ones so its a problem for me.

Even with WebGL, we're seeing a doubling jump of memory on layout transition causing a memory warning, it would certainly crash since my assets are 400MB+ in ram. Have to wait further for proper iOS support of large games.

On android its fine, I've got Intel XDK apps on Google Store.

  • You should not use create object every 0.01 seconds, because thats faster than the threshold for 60 fps (16ms).

iPhone 4 is just awful, and thats the truth of it. I believe the 4S is still the bulk of the market, with iPhone 5 replacing it quickly.

  • retrodude Those animations look like Spriter, does it work well with the exporters to mobiles?

  • Crisp art, nice and functional gameplay.
