  • My first attempt at making an RPG.

  • So I've noticed that if I have an event that uses the "wait x seconds" action, I will run into some issues if I need the event to work in a precise manner.

    I worked on a slot machine game that relied on the "wait x seconds" action so I could get the same slot machine icons to line up every time, but the end result was always different if I tried playing the game on a different computer.

    I also worked on a project where a platformer character's movements are controlled by an event sheet to navigate through a level, using the "wait x seconds" action to space out the commands. It worked great, but if I tried to record my screen, the game would lag, and the timing of the character's scripted actions would be way off.

    Anyone having similar issues, or am I doing it wrong?

  • there really are only two options - either set up your layout so the player can never get close enough to the edge to prevent a screen shake (if there is no more layout available to bring on the screen, then it can't shake).

    or turn on unbounded scrolling, but then you have to make sure your character can't leave the area where your graphics are, and that there is enough background beyond the edge so that when it shakes the screen you don't see the white edges with nothing on it.

    Damn, that really sucks.

  • I'm working on a fighting game and whenever a character dies, the screen shakes when they hit the floor. When a character dies at the edge of the screen, there's no shake. What would be a good solution?

  • I've recently come up with an interesting way to create button input combos similar to how it's done in the streetfighter games. Ryu is able to do a hadoken if the number sequence in an array table is in the correct order. after 1 second, the array gets erased if no buttons are pressed.

  • Same here, pretty sure they'll resolve that first thing in the morning. You could revert your project back in the meantime.

    Unfortunately it didn't work. After I saved it as a zip and dragged it into C3, it said it wasn't a valid .c3p file. I even Tried changing the extension to .c3p

  • Help, I can't seem to run Construct 3 using the r161 beta. I keep getting this message...

    Has anyone come across this issue with the latest beta version (r161) of C3? I can't seem to access Construct 3 after updating. The latest version of my game is using r161.
