    weird but interesting

Not sure what it is but I love ZX graphics. Must be childhood memories haha Looking good, can't wait to see more

  • This year I've clocked up a personal best in terms of road miles cycled, conquered the E'tape as well as watched the Tour de France and Vuelta. It got me inspired to have a try at a Road cycling game for mobile. Currently just putting together a mock up and testing the engine idea. Some of the mechanics are borrowed from other cycle games.

I plan to make a one stage layout where the rider has endurance (Blue) and Sprint (Red) energy. You will be able to replenish once per stage with a gel, draft other riders to reduce spent energy and call team mates for tactics (Breakaway, attack etc..)

If a Mock version works then I'll look to build a small Tour as a starter and then my idea is to progress into a full career mode, starting as armature building up rider skills / stats (RPG style) to progress into National and then the Grand Tours.

Very early days so far but its making progress It's something a little different to my other apps!

  • Just looked at the YT video - looks nice!

Cool to see something a bit different made in C2

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, not your average game that is made with C2 and shows how it can be used differently. It has made it more 'challenging' but no problem that cannot be worked around I moved to C2 to test if I could make something like this as I was using an excel macro sheet before with forms and VB. With newer updates on office over the years it gave lots of errors. Plus this just feels more of a professional package once exported as an .exe file

  • Great artwork and looks a good tribute to RRR. Did you have a go yet at slopes / jumps?

  • I've been working on this on and off for quite some time now and have bugged quite a few people along the way for help with bits / pieces. It took a lot of trial and error but finally got to a place happy to share progress to date

Thanks MadSpy, rexrainbow, R0J0hound, Ratmaster, SoldjahBoy for your time / patience with my questions.

    It's current and working features:

    • Build quotes or invoices using drop box lists
    • Items, units and rates are generated from text files. Update the text files to change items / rates etc...
    • Add custom items and rates by selecting 'TBC' from drop down lists. Item them added to the list
    • Add pictures to quotes
    • Save and load quotes to computers / share between computers
    • Build in user manual (pdf)
    • Live summary breakdown on the right hand side
    • Function to duplicate a line down to save time with entry
    • Export quote / invoice as a full Excel file (xlsx)

    Pluggins used:

NWJS - Save and load quotes to local directory, download photo / excel files

Paster - Load photo and for downloading

Date - Generate today's date in the invoice / quote

The rest is then made from text boxes and a macro excel file to do the final build of the excel file. It allows saving to any location with any file name.

  • To cut a long story short I have found the solution by myself.

We should use "tokenat(CanvasSnapshot,1,",")" instead of just "CansavSnapshot".

Also we should find "writefile" function in "c2runtime.js", go 5 steps down and change "UTF8" with "Base64"

    Hi,

Do you happen to have an example available? i am trying to do the same thing. I would like to download an image without giving the user a pop up.

    Thanks,

  • I had a similar issue and was not able to find a reliable method. I ended up going down the route of using the NWJS plugin. I can now save to a specific filetype of my choice, share this and call in and out the data. Downside is that its desktop based and means it can't be used as a web app

  • As an update I an using the prompt save dialogue to let the user choose a save location and give a filename.

I am then using 'on save ok' to write the file to the location (NWJS.chosenpath & ".xls")

This creates two files. i) filename and ii) filename.xls (I assume as I called the save dialogue ok action)

Does anyone know if there is a way to save just one file and allow the user to pick a location and file name in NWJS? I am also trying to store the file name as one variable and the save location as another.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi MadSpy

When I tried to use write file in nwjs nothing seemed to happen. I couldnt find any examples online to check what I was doing wrong.

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

I am using the browser object to 'invoke download string' to allow me to save data from my app into a .xml file.

I am using NWJS for my app and this method lets the user choose the location of the save file and its filename. (If you run it in Chrome only it saves automatically to your chrome save file folder).

I'd like to be able to save the file location and name to a string when the user clicks ok.

Is there a way to save this to a string, or force the browser download location to a set folder on the users computer?

    Thanks,

  • Thanks megatronx got it now

  • Hey megatronx

I still get an error. It says link is no longer available, request a new link?
