Here's where I'm at with bringing Jack B. Nimble to Steam.
The game is currently in submission and waiting on Valve to approve it. I've heard that this is a pretty simple process, however, my store page was denied. And it was denied for the strangest of reasons...
[quote:mflhtx02]Your store page has failed our review because the "Visit the website" link leads to a page meant to sell the same product through other stores, which is not allowed here. The page includes purchase options for the Apple App Store https://sean-noonan.itch.io/jackbnimble Please remove or replace this link. This can be edited in the External Links area found in Basic Info tab on Steamworks.
This is strange, because multiple games that I used as reference when building my Steam Store page also linked to their itch.io page, and in the case of some games (Downwell for example) actually advertise the iOS version in the Steam trailer on their Steam Store page!
I'm guess it's special rules for known or published developers? Or maybe I'm just unlucky? Who knows, but I've removed all mentions of other platforms or any external links to any websites - go marketing! So I'm expecting that the game will be up for wishlisting soon. I don't have much of a following, so it might actually be a little depressing to see a hard count of player interest... but I feel any metric at this stage will help me to gauge interest and project potential sales figures.
So here's the capsule image for the Steam Store:
Other than that, I've been considering my options in regards to a patch for the iOS version. I'll see how much interest there is as I ramp up PC marketing!
