• Did you try deleting that one and downloading a new copy? A Virus named Graftor sounds like one that may be Grafting itself to files your working with. (It may already be in your system.)

  • PickedCount is how many of the object is picked. So you check to see if it's overlapping the game area, which picks all those that are, then check the PickedCount to see how many are there.

  • Normally I get two notices for blogs, and tutorials, and just thought it was me having all the checkboxes for notices selected.

    But 6?

All 6 had 8:56 am on them, all the same address.

  • That fix worked for me.

  • In the tutorial section, beginner tutorial, I checked the box next to "Subscribe - When Ashley writes new tutorials" and it took me to the "Famous tutorial" Badges page.

I had already checked "When new 'Workflow' tutorials are published" and on unchecking it and re-checking, it took me there too.

When returning to the page, now neither retain the check mark.

    I am using FireFox 23.0.1

     A second thing I noticed,

the "Free Bundle" in the footer says it is 13 megs, but the download is actually just over 30 megs.

(which could explain complaints of long downloads.)

edit: now a 3rd thing, the smiley I chose above was the ! in a triangle, and it used the radiation symbol.

Ah, they both use the exclamation point in brackets.

    ? uses [ :?:] maybe ! should use [ :!:]

  • I have an idea that might be easy to add,

Next to each object put the current picked count in the parentheses too. (4 of 6)

  • I seem to remember it only downloads the sound format your device uses.

Isn't there a load graphics from URL or something too?

  • Yeah, Wordpress screwed it all up.

I had to make an entire Blog before I could have my avatar. And actually, I had to sign into Gravatar with the wordpress account, and then give Gravatar permission to the Wordpress account.

Although it does say if you had a Gravatar account, you now have the Wordpress account automatically. (why don't they still do that.) Sigh.

  • This one I guess?

(not a great video, host should just change his name to kill butt.)

[edit- oops, I let it play as I replied, and he got dirty almost half way through and I shut it off.]

  • I looked at a friends bejeweled clone and it looks like he used Drag and Drop to allow the player to move the piece. On drag start it Z-Layered to the top. When the tile got 60 pixels Distance() from the temporarily saved source location he forced it to drop. It then would snap to the closest tile grid, and moved an invisible sprite to that location. Then he picked each stacked sprite instance under that invisible sprite, and further picked the bottom (z-layer) one to move to that original temporarily saved source location.

Yes I did ask him to clarify some things so I could post it. but he doesn't want to share code. sorry.

[edit- the 60 pixels was far enough to land on a tile next to the original, but not far enough to snap to a diagonal.]

  • The PNG compression isn't lossy, the grades of compression are how long it takes to make them, so that shouldn't matter.

Usually it's when the PNG is smaller than the size it's displaying at run time. If the screen stretches to fit a bigger screen size, and the PNGs weren't bigger than needed, they will blur to cover the scaling.

(In other words, if you make the PNG the biggest size it could stretch to, and then size it down at design time, it will have room to grow and stay sharp.)

However that may not be your problem, that's why the capx suggestion, so we can see what's happening.

  • With Event Sheet Includes, like Ashley mentions, you could do what you want, put all a sprites events in one sheet, and include it, and all the other instances, in the main one.
