Thanks, but I didn't seems to get the invite. Could you send it to this e-mail address instead:

    flatness [at] aol [dot] com

    Thanks again!

    Rick

Crap! I sent it to the wrong email. Let me get it straitened out, and resend.

  • can you guys tell me how you could get on dribbble? I´m not really sure how you can get an invite honestly

Beaverlicious you have to be invited by a dribbble member. As a member you get invites every now and again. If you have a portfolio, post a link or DM me with it, and the next time I get an extra I will keep you in mind.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hey facejf,

Thanks a million for mentioning Dribble. I noticed that they had a sign-up, so I can just use that I think so you don't have to go through the trouble of doing an invite. That was super-cool of you let me know about that site. I really appreciate it!

No problem! It's invite only if you want to post, so I emailed you one.

  • what you mean

"I think "Set isClimbing to True" on the Up Arrow events should be toggle isClimbing instead."

Scratch that, my mistake. I missed it the first time, I see now that they are both set to True.

I have a feeling that it's your animation control. Try "play from current frame" For your Down arrow animation

I attached a screen of a climbing I did a while ago. May be of some help.

  • Hey Rick,

I'm a pro artist as well (Construct 2 user) and stumbled on your post. I checked out your portfolio, which to say the least is impressive. Unfortunately I'm not looking to hire an artist but I do have a Dribbble invite available. If you aren't on there already, I will gladly offer it too you to assist in maximizing your potential exposure.

  • Could be a couple of things.. I'm not 100% sure on this (I would have to see capx to test) but I would try the following:

I think "Set isClimbing to True" on the Up Arrow events should be toggle isClimbing instead.

And for Down arrow event concerning animations, instead of "play from beginning" try "play from current frame"

  • Very nice graphics! looks awesome gameplay too :3

Thank you very much!! I really dig your screens as well!

  • Screens of a unexpected personal project. I was prototyping some gun mechanics, just playing around and it turned into a game.

  • Lunarovich WOW! This is a great plugin. Thank you!!

  • 36 here. Same boat. Glad I'm not alone I've been a graphics guy my whole life (I'm a freelance designer by day) The leap into game dev wasn't to bad. Except for coding and maths.. Construct2 made it easier for me. I'm currently working on a game called Scum Slayer. I worked on 2 other games prior, that never got finished due to my lack of understanding and pre planning. I spent at least a year learning Construct by dissecting capx examples and reworking them/hacking them to see what does what. I have a soft spot for 2D pixel styled games, and being an art guy.. I enjoy creating sprites and artwork for games. It's been a fun journey thus far and I look forward to the future.

  • I am having the exact same issues. I updated everything, browsers and vid drivers. IE11 results in massive errors pertaining to GL support. If I disable WebGL it works in IE11 but with out the obvious WebGL support. Firefox is just plain crap with FPS dropping quickly and massively. Chrome and Node webkit work for me.

  • If it's a .capx, then use a program such as winzip or 7zip to unpack the .capx to a new folder. Edit the .caproj file using a program like notepad and find the xml line:

    <saved-with-version>16900</saved-with-version>[/code:163w7g2q]

Change the version from 16900 to 16800 and save.

Double click the .caproj to launch into C2 and re-save as .capx.

    Yay!
