  • If anyone is able to help me with this please advise as I really need to try and have it working and as far as I can tell it's quickly becoming more of a bug than it is broken code as I can't see any logical reason why the light switch is not toggling downlight 1 off and on but only works when the layout first starts up.

  • Actually I just tried to invert the or like shown in your example but it does not work.

downlight_1 does not start visible like it should

and changing the light switch does not change the state of the down light either :s

  • please do tell me what the logic is behind why inverting this works but the way I had it would not as it makes no sense to me, both should technically work.

  • I tried to remove the OR but by getting rid of the or from that statement, it does not function how it needs to operate.

  • I've just got the scirra.com/FORUM/behavior-easetween_topic53288_page13.html

    plugin and the

    scirra.com/forum/behavior-moveto_topic44845.html

    Moveto plugin from this page.

  • would it help if I were to upload the capx for you to see?

I'm not sure of exactly how I would go about putting both states of my light switch into a single animation. I know that for my top menu buttons, they are not done this way and they have no problems working.

I'll upload the capx for you, this will likely be the best way to figure out what is going on because to me, I think my code is problem free (a little bloated perhaps but I can't spot any errors I mean technically it should work)

The error is happening in the Catalogue Event Sheet

That is a link to my capx

  • I have been working to get this particular down light to turn on if the switch is clicked or if the mouse moves over it and to be off in any other situation (switch clicked to the off position *unlit* or mouse not hovering over the downlight).

However what is currently happening is as follows :

1 - Downlight starts off turned on and Light switch is lit up (due to global variable Light_Switch being set to 1 by default)

2 - Downlight turns on when turned off and the mouse moves over the down light but flicks off when the mouse is not over the down light

3 - Light turns off when the switch is clicked and the switch also stops being lit.

PROBLEM : when I click the light switch again... the down light does not come back on.

Only when I then move my cursor over the down light does it turn back on again and stay on. but for some reason it requires the mouse to move over the downlight sprite for it to update and realise that the variable has changed back to 1 and therefore should already be on permanently again.

CODE in QUESTION : below :

  • This is basically it though I am wanting to have it loop infinitely with a defined pause between each Loop.

Also I will be changing the easing so there is no bounce on the 2nd Tween.

My problem has been trying to get it to loop correctly, I have had it do the motion as shown in the capx you uploaded, though when I try to make it loop... that's where it seems to cut out random parts of the script and does not simply repeat exactly what it did the first time around with a custom defined pause between each iteration.

thanks again for all of your help, it's great to see that you offer this level of assistance with your behaviour.

  • After many attempts, it seems that the issue is as follows :

I establish the tween duration so it does not teleport

I then set the first target destination and then start the tween

Object moves as expected to target area where it stops due to the Wait command I have set up.

.. however, the object then teleports back to the start location and repeats this same animation indefinitely.

It completely ignores the 2nd target that I assign for the object to tween towards after the wait period has finished.

My initial thoughts are that the most likely reason for this would be that I need to some how define a group of tween targets so that the behaviour knows they are a sequence and are to all be included.. but I need it to follow the System Waits that I have put in place to keep the animation sequenced properly.

I'm not sure how to do this and I can't use the Ease Tween Wait parameter as I need different start and end wait times.

Above is a screen shot of the problem area.

With this code in place, the graphic is always invisible and it does not appear .. if I turn off the fade it simply pauses at one spot.. teleports to the top.. then back then up to the top again and then back etc..

It should have started at the bottom, faded to full opacity. moved to middle.. waited.. moved to the top fading out again then teleported to the bottom and repeated over and over

I would upload the capx but I don't have an account with any file sharing sites currently. and the file size including assets is a little on the large side.

When I use relative mode, it completely disappears fade active or disabled.

  • Jax - that's unrelated to this thread you've posted in... IE doesn't even support WebGL. The warning is solely because you're previewing locally (on localhost) and should never appear once you publish to the web, therefore it's not of any concern to any users. I'm not sure it even comes up locally in other browsers like Firefox and Chrome.

And wow, this is an old thread from 2011, and I'm not sure I even agree with that post I wrote above any more.Thank you for this information,I was not sure as I read on several google results that webgl somehow was related to ActiveX and thought it was related. I now understand the situation thanks again and apologies for digging up this old thread
