  • I'm thinking maybe multiple layouts to split the game world up will be best.

Now my other roadblock I already know is having pixel buildings resembling Pokemon buildings, but I can not go and copy theirs, it is copyright infringement, where can I go to learn how to make 2d sprites like the buildings? Everywhere I look they are iso buildings, no tutorials for the 2d ones in Pokemon.

  • Rushing and doing it the quick way usually doesn't lead to a quality game. You also have to plan for devices that can't load a large world into memory all at once if you are not just targeting PC's with the game...

It's solely for PC. But even slower PC's would have trouble handling a large world with 10k plus sprites if I just did one huge world.

How would a grid system work with loading and destroying sprites?

  • The easiest route seems to be have a different layout for each cell. But it seems more time consuming.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Thanks for the quick reply.

I know to do it that way, but it seems that the Pokemon games are seamless in terms on the game world. Besides going inside houses and dungeons.

  • How would you approach this?

My example is, the Pokemon games, how they have a whole world to explore and towns to go through. How would you approach this in Construct 2? It would make performance run very slow if you had all sprites and all animations from all the people running on a Layout at one time. How could you make the game world load each time you move to a different area to lessen the load on your processor?

I have been struggling to find a solution, and I can not think of one. Does anyone have any ideas?

  • "This games content is rated for children of all ages to play." <---This part here has me wondering after I read the name of his game. So I have mixed thoughts about the title.. But it does look humorous, however I don't think parents would want their children playing a game about stroking their bananas.

You may be right, however many parents don't know exactly what their children even play these days. Go look at the GTA series, or CoD. That is not children friendly, and quite frankly, many children do play those kinds of games.

My game has no violence or adult content inside the game, it just has a humorous name. Something you can speculate from the title, and actually playing the game are two different things.

  • The game is in experimental stage - Feedback is appreciated. :)

  • The games title may be deceiving. This games content is rated for everyone. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Greetings! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I am in Alpha/ Beta stage of my game, soon to come out for Google Play. I am in dire need of some testers to give me the scoop on the likes/dislikes of my game. Please be critical! I can handle it.

Please, if you have CocoonJS Launcher on your Android Phone, test my game out! Please follow the below steps, debug has to be turned off and a portrait orientation.

    <font size="5">CocoonJS Launcher Steps:</font>

If you have not installed CocoonJS on your Android, or do not know how to play my game, take these simple steps:

    1. Go to Google Play Store.

    2. Search for CocoonJS.

    3. Download and install CocoonJS Launcher.

    4. Open CocoonJS Launcher.

    5. Click on "Your App".

    6. The COG Wheel at the right hand corner, click it.

    7. This will bring you to settings, click the "debug" option to turn it off. Do the same with "orientation", make this "Portrait".

    8. Press back on your phone.

    9. You will need to register with Ludei, to do this there should be a "Register" button on the right hand side of the screen. Click it.

    10. Fill out all the necessary fields, and an email will be sent.

    11. Go to your email, open it and there should be a "registration code" copy this and paste it into the "Registration Code" box to the left of the "Register" button.

12.Finally, in the "Zip URL" text box, type in: "http://www.filedropper.com/newproject_2"

    13. Then click "Launch Current" and it will play the game!

NOTE: At any time, you can exit the game like you do any ordinary app.

I would like some information on your experience with my game.

Such as, but not limited to...

-What phone device do you have?

    -Did you like it?

    -Did you find it confusing?

-Did you find it too hard?

-Did you find the game running too slow?

-What would you suggest I do to improve gameplay/ and or game.

    -How are the graphics?

Use CocoonJS Launcher to play my game!

Please use this picture I have uploaded to use as a guide:

Your Mission: To kill all flies that try to land on your Banana. Flies that land on your Banana bring your score down drastically. Simply swipe the Flies and they will be flattened!! On the other hand, swipe either up or down on your banana to make your score rise. Once full, you win the level.

<font color=red>RED CIRCLE</font> - This is your bottle, used to get rid of bruises that appear on your Banana. Simply touch it and drag it onto your Banana to remove bruises.

<font color=yellow>YELLOW CIRCLE</font> - This bar tells you how much juice is in your bottle. Killing flies gives you more juice.

<font color=blue>BLUE CIRCLE</font> - Your bruise percentage bar, if this becomes full, your Banana will die!!

    <font color=pink>PINK CIRCLE</font> - Your time.

<font color=purple>PURPLE CIRCLE</font> - Your score, fill this to full to win the level.

<font color=green>GREEN CIRCLE</font> - This is your cool-down bar. DO NOT let this become full, or you will be penalized where you will not be able to score until the cool-down bar reaches zero.

The RED arrows on the Banana simply means to swipe your finger on the Banana either up or down. When you swipe your finger, you will have to let off at the end of the swipe for the score to register.

The light blue arrows at the bottom of the screens is the BACK button.

    Have Fun!!

    <font size="5">My Appreciation:</font>

I appreciate all testers that help improve my game before it reaches the Google Play Store!

  • Edit the Fly sprite and use the "Rotate 90 degrees clockwise" button at the top (hold shift to make it apply to the whole animation).

C2 considers the "right side" of a sprite to be the front and your fly is pointing upward.

    Thank you. It works. :)

  • I should also mention, all of the Spawning Fly logic is under "Spawning" in event sheet.

  • Yeah I just edited I uploaded the wrong file. Sorry.

    Its a rather large file.

  • Hello.

I got a major problem maybe someone can show me what I did wrong.

I have a sprite "fly" trying to rotate it towards the LocationFly sprite on my Banana.

When you run the game, it seems to ignore image points and rotate them towards the location. What they do now is rotate sideways and it looks dumb.

    Here is my project:

Thanks for the help by the way.
