  • Hi there, I'm in need of an effect wizard to assist in getting the Normal Maps Extended effect working on the Bump Maps we've generated for our main player sprite. Whatever we try to do it fails.

    We are in need of a custom behaviour that works similar to the inbuilt Flash effect found in Construct 2

    However, this behaviour should flash the sprite white rather than transparent. All other functions should be present, such as the 'is flashing' condition.

  • Apologies for the slow reply ... randomly, your suggestions fixed the problem.

    By setting the speed, issuing a 'stop' and setting the vectors to zero - taking a 0.01 second pause and then setting the correct vector movement, it fixes the issue.

  • Hi there, apologies for the shortened subject line ...

    So, in our little game we have two control mechanisms for our player. In general they use the Platform Plus behaviour to do the platforming sections. However, from time to time they enter a little spaceship. When this happens the platform behaviour is disabled, and a custom movement behaviour is enabled (it has to be custom for ricochet effects, that don't impact this 'problem')

    Whenever we enter the spaceship, for the life of us, we can not get the player to launch straight up regardless. Depending on the location of the docking system it launches the player all over the place. Is there something I am missing in order to ignore the previous directions the player was going in, and just fire the player up for a second?

  • Agreed ... but I just can not get both the 8 direction and bullet behaviour working nicely together. This is what I have ...

    The movement works absolutely fine, however when the player hits a solid object he/she just stops and doesn't bounce.

    To add ... both behaviours are enabled during an in-game trigger.

  • It's not travelling very fast at all (200 in fact)

    What happens is the the 'ship' hits a wall and stops with the bullet behaviour as well as the 8 direction behaviour. There is no bounce at all.

    If I amend the speed of the bullet behaviour then it does bounce but begins to absolutely crazy as the 'speed' just goes bananas.

    I have just tried that and unfortunately the bouncing doesn't work as intended. Could you spare the time to suggest another method?

    So our player is in a little round spaceship and when it bounces on a wall or solid object we are trying to get it to bounce properly arkanoid style.

    We are using the 8 direction control (4 directions) and currently the only thing we can see that's 'built-in' is the reverse system which reverses your X and Y vector so you bounce incorrectly.

    For example,

    If you are travelling north east at full speed and you slam into a wall, you should immediately be catapulted north-west at your original speed.

    Is there a simple method for implementing this?

  • This is absolutely perfect ... could I possibly commission this? We need a method to fade / shimmer a sprite with a hex or rbg value ?
