  • On the start of the gameplay layout (the action layout) i have several groups deactivated, along with bullet and rotate behavior disabled. There is a 3,2,1 countdown and then everything gets activated and enabled.

If you touch PLAY from the main menu everything works fine.

But...if you touch replay from the leaderboards layout, which takes you back to the gameplay layout, the bullet behavior does not enable, so the disks move at 0 angle.

I've tried moving things around, waiting 0.25 secs, going to layout by name, many things. It just doesn't work if the layout is replayed.

If anyone has an idea on how to fix this, it'd be greatly appreciated.

    CAPX

  • Well, if you're worried about someone stealing your idea, don't. The chances are slim to none.

I've been working on mine for several months, it's a chance i'll take, albeit a slim one, to get better help with it.

Just take a screenshot of the logic in question and post that. It's a start.

  • You'll get a lot better help if you try to achieve it yourself. This way, not only will you learn what not to do, but we'll know what you have already tried when you tell us what you have tried already.

Also, posting a capx or at the least a screenshot of the events. Sorry, but you'll find that no one is going to write the logic for you. Try, try and then try again.

Again, if we don't know what you have done, tried, and/or failed on, we can't help.

  • How are your events/actions set up with those 'attack' animations? If we could see what you're doing, we may be able to better tell you.

  • Adding a capx may get you better help.

  • Ah, so it's like a Mario game, in only that you are collecting coins, not purchasing them.

Then take a look at this. It's a tutorial on saving high scores using a website, but the info could prove useful.

  • If you are using IAP's Google Play will keep track of the purchases, i do believe.

Google "restoring purchases in construct 2" and/or "restoring purchases Google Play"

  • yeah, i know.... forgot to include my capx

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I'm trying to add a text box so the player can enter their name if they have 1 of the top 10 high scores. I got the text box to show and to allow the player to type their name, restricting to only 9 characters. I also got a top 10 high scores to display...sort of.

Because a few tutorials, posts and capx's have different things i need, i've tried to pick and choose certain elements from each one. Bad idea! The main tutorial, post and capx's i've been trying to learn from are these:

Asteroid clone in less than 100 events by Kyatric

    and the

    version 0.41.capx by korbaach

Kyatric's has the elements (name, score, wave) already in place. Tried to edit that with no luck. It only shows 8 of the 10 and then those 8 are all the same.

The capx from korbaach seemed pretty easy to follow, except he uses buttons for the name input and only 3 letters. Also, he has something called "zeropad" which i've tried leaving out and ended up not showing anything.

That's my main confusion. Along with when and how to 'get' and 'save' the array and player name. Right now i think i have to delete all of the logic that i added to try and get these things to work, 'cause i'm confusing myself even more.

If anyone can help me out and school me on these confusing elements, it would be much appreciated.

  • First of all, I wanna thank you guys for creating Construct 2. I'm really having a great time creating games.

    But back on topic.

The title says it all. The camera for my platform game is really small, you can barely see anything, so is there anyways to increase the size of it?

You don't increase the camera size. You have to increase the "Window Size". A larger window will show more of the layout, and doing so will make the objects appear smaller. The reverse is also true, a smaller window will show less of the layout, and make the objects appear larger.

  • Yeah, i have that as an event. Never thought about it though. Just trying to rush this thing through and try my hand at exporting for alpha testing. You know, the whole living in the car thing.

Thank you for all the help you've given. Gonna have to cut you in on some profit sharing.

  • Or you can get the spritefont+ plugin and use that. It allows UPPER and lower case typing.

Don't be scared - if i can do it... anyone can.
