  • Obviously the ad unities must be created at some layout, like a Loading Layout or Menu Layout, not a good idea to create on every level where the user spend most of the time, restarting and restarting the layout.

As I have been clear, this its a matter that construct team must take deeper attention therefore I dont have a better solution because there are holes in the manual and some things work differently from what it seemed to be indented, that's why I have joined this topic just to refresh the post and bring this to attention.

If you feel personally offended, that is your own problem.

  • fredriksthlm indeed

it is violation rules but from my experience if they find out they will at most remove the app until you send a new one, but the best solution is to have the app content rating compatible with the admob ads content rating, but that might be challening since the content rating score at the store is different from admob...

I really thought it would be ok to show tik tok ads to 12 year old... but no... how do I know whats the suitable age for tik tok ads? I have no idea and dont know how to find out, so I just do work arounds and hope everything will remaing working smoothly for a while

the more you send app updates, more chances of google finding small policy violations

I had an app removed when I sent an update because I used 5 consecutives exclamation marks on the store listing... (!!!!!) it was there since the first publishing, but some picky google employee wanted to show how he excel at his job

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • lionz I have read, requesting a new Ad Unity, even for banners, every time the layout starts is a really bad idea,it will generate too many ad requests and lots of times they won't be served. For example if he wants to show the banner when the player dies, and that ad is requested and ready, but instead it goes to a new level and dont show the banner, when starting a new layout the banner will be requested again and only be shown if the player dies. This will decrease MATCH RATE a lot and if AdMob even get suspicious, and they easily do, they will place an ad serving limit on your account for 30 days or for 30 years. good luck

That's why I have mentioned that we need a revision of the Manual, with examples, because there are holes and things that dont work as the manual says and I have given examples of that.

Banners seems to be destroyed when Hidden, but Intersetial or Rewarded ads seem to work more than just once. This is such a important plugin for mobile developers and I do hope Construct team brings more attention to it.

This method of implementing ads seem to be more interesting but not sure if it still works: youtube.com/watch I have to try it

  • Yes you must create it every time you enter the layout. I don't know how you managed to show ads on remote preview, seems impossible.

I dont think this is a good idea... it might generate too many ad requests and decrease match rate... also this might cause the game to lag, because loading an ad will consume network and CPU...

I have had success creating each unity just ONCE and using the SHOW action when I want to show them, it still seems to be working like this EXCEPT for banner ads, now banner seem to work just once per creation..

I think Construct needs to update its manual, and actually take a good look into using AdMob... Cause I dont think the team really finds it relevant for them or I dont know, there's always some confusion... for example if an ad can be shown only once and cannot be called again before creating the ad unity again, then instead of using HIDE AD it should say DESTROY AD to make more sense in Construct logic. Because HIDE/SHOW makes you think you can do as simple as that, but no, if HIDE means the ad will be destroyed and created again, than the action should be named DESTROY AD...

At least for the Banners now, it seem to me that Hiding the Banner will really DESTROY it and they wont come back. But I can show Intersetial more than once from creating the ad unity just once at the loading screen...

The manual for the ad plugin is too vague, I find many holes in it... Can be really frustrating testing over and over to make sure you get what you want

I will mention the boss Ashley here just in hope to get some clarification or useful comment...

  • Hey, try saving your privacy policy document as a PDF file on google drive, then share the link for the pdf as the link for your privacy policy. Make sure the link is set as viewable by "anyone with the link" (but no editable). Works for me. It is also a good idea to actually read that privacy policy you generated from a random website, you can make some editing if relevant.

Then for your Ad situation, you have told Play Store that your app is suitable for children, then you must make sure that the ads on your AdMob account are also configured for that age range.

On you AdMob account, go to APP, choose the app in question, and go to BLOCKING CONTROLS. Have you explored this section of admob? It is really important.

Go to SENSITE CATEGORIES and make sure they are all disable if because none of them will be accepted by play store if you target children. Even ads like TIK TOK cannot be showed to kids... I have learned that the hard way.

You can also explore GENERAL CATEGORIES and see if there is any other category you want/need to hide.

The easiest way is actually just going to AD CONTENT RATING and changing the audience target, like this:

but be aware that decreasing the suitable-age target on admob can decrease your revenue ($)... So I give you 2 suggestions to find a balance:

ON the Play Developer Console, on the left menu go to Policy > App Content:

find CONTENT RATING and take a new test, this time check at least a couple of boxes like "my app has mild offensive language, mild violence, reference to farts... etc etc" this is just to change your app from being rated for ALL ages (like 4 year old kids) to kids over 10, or 12, or 14, depending on how you do the test. You can redo this test as much as needed. This will mostly not affect your downloads, since most kids dont have parental guidance anyway, but then the play store will tolerate Ads for older ages, like ads with references to kissing etc... (TIK TOK ads are for teens). THIS IS THE NICE GOOD GUY WAY OF DOING IT

NOW, IF YOU WANT TO PLAY SMART AND RISKY, DO THIS:

On AdMob, change your Ad Content Rating to GENERAL AUDIENCES (everyone) and then send you app update for the store. WAIT FOR IT TO BE APPROVED AND PUBLISHED, then you can go back to AdMob and change your Ad audience back to MATURE or TEENS if you like. Usually the person that reviews your app update on the store just needs to see the situation at that given time, once its published you can change the ads and relax, but be aware at random your app might be reviewed again and that update be suspended or something... So its a better idea to mix these 2 solutions I gave you.

I see that most of my revenue comes from Video Games ads, but lots of these ads show first-person shooter, etc, not really approved for kids. So I try to keep a rating of 10+ (age) or 14+, just so I can keep showing these profitable ads, even if my game is suitable for smaller children...

    Hope this helps

    quick edit:

indeed you dropbox link is fuc*kd up, you might have been lucky so far but no one else can access the privacy policy with the link you provided, your privacy policy must be ready to read once the link is clicked. convert easily to PDF with google docs and share the direct link for that file

  • I would also enjoy an Appodeal plugin... I think Appodeal had their own custom made plugin for Construct 2, I used it in 2017 but they stopped with personalized support for construct... too bad..

I remember AdMob was still the best paying network and the pay was cashed directly with admob, but admob is full of shady (sh**tty) policies and they will place ad serving limits anytime withouth explaning anything... So I guess Appodeal is a good turnaround to keep serving ads when this happens.

The best part of Appodeal as their support, talking to real humans and they were very attentive even when my apps had very few downloads...

Please give us an Appodeal plugin for a cool price.

  • I just got the Ad Serving Limit warning without any other information, google says my account will be reviewed and the process usually takes a month but can take longer. My revenue dropped 95%...

I see that this is a rather common issue that bothers developers. I dont self click or place ads to mislead users... I dont know what I could do to improve and fix the issue since I dont know what the issue is and the policy list is too generic and wide.

Anyone who went through this? Were you able to fix it or just had to wait? How long? Any advice?

Does anyone use mediation that doesnt required SDK? I dont know how to ad third-party SDKs in C3...

    Any light is appreciated.

    Thanks

  • oh , I see, that is a solution, but not good if you have lots of sprites with that behavior, I guess... I think the debugger should be complete, checking every feature C3 makes available...

    thank you

  • R0J0hound thank you, noted! you may delete your post :)

  • I think lots and lots of people who were struggling to get a "steady" and strong, natural, rope, were actually just looking for these "visual effects", they are amazing.

Yes I have removed last post because it was irrelevant already, I was changing the "mass" value of the weight and nothing was happening, but then I changed something else in the math events and got the gravity I wanted.

Could I contact you directly maybe just for some key questions? DM or email? You're the one that can help me out, and have already
