  • Ashley, what about adding an option to extend the view distance of the layout based on resolution?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Heh, the browser is so old it can't even run the test... not a good sign! :P

Why didn't Nintendo use Chromium or any other open-source browser library?

  • Ashley, I believe this should be added. It doesn't really harm anyone - it is like fullscreen films in a way. As long as the game developers use a big image it shouldn't look bad. Upsizing usually destroys quality and downsizing hides imperfections. Although, it should be added as an additional fullscreen option. I'm not that experienced at multiple resolutions, but I can see where he is coming from. Additionally, developers should give the user the option to use fullscreen or not.

I think performance is terrible right now in Construct 2. I get 12 FPS on my game using HTML5 on my tablet and Chrome's browser. Does framerate really improve much using 3rd party export options?

  • I was wondering if it was possible to make cap files recognize Steam and open with Construct 2? Right now, it seems if I open a .capx it will open with the free edition. I realize that there is a special thing the program goes through before Steam launches it, so my question is: how do I get it to go through that process through Windows directly?

  • Hello there.

If you have any ideas I'm very much up for a team environment to work on some sexy ass games.

I'm mostly trying to find an artist to work with or another team with some good ideas for a mobile game. I've been trying to find another game to work on while my other project is on halt until summer.

  • Bump.

I have updated the OP with two more mapping examples and other improvements.

  • Tokinsom I suppose so. I just figured blocking would be better if it were done on the cosmetic sprite rather than an invisible one. Never mind about it, then.

  • Ashley the problem is the collision is getting stuck with the edges of the solid tiles. Gravity should cause any collisions to have friction, but not make you clip to another object. For example, if I have a diagonally blocked sprite (something that is not blocked completely on the same X value all the way from top to bottom), it will get stuck on it. The greater the difference of the angle of the block, the more it will clip.

I've read you say to use movement with a 32x32 square, but it seems like a bug to me. Developers have to do a hack around it. I personally do not want to design my game around a 32x32 block square. It defeats the purpose of collisions in the first place.

  • HTML 5 runs better and faster than Flash on my computer. I don't think it is that HTML 5 is slower, but the device itself performs extremely poorly with it. I'm sure they can optimize it to work better with the device, it will just take some time.

I'm not an expert, this is just my personal experience with it, so what I say is not 100% accurate or considerable evidence to prove the point of HTML 5's dominance.

  • You have my support. Great job.

  • I have this happen to me as well. I am using tiled blocked tiles, that could be the issue. I am using r117.

    Example of error here.

    Properties of the object here.

I may be using it wrong, but I find it extremely useful for spreading tiles out easily.
