  • Hi everyone, hope you are doing great.

    I am making a whack a mole style game, but with 16 objets that are individually placed. I need them to appear and dissapear randomly so when they appear the user can click on them.

    So far my approach is having an invisible object bouncing all around, triggering targets from frame 0 to 1 (frame 1 having no collision area) , but I am sure there are way better methods. Or maybe, you can tell me this is a good idea? I really don´t know.... So far, it does the trick! Kinda...

    I have also tried to put them in a family and set every random x,x seconds, family opacity and enabling/desabling collisions...

    A third option would be creating and destroying the dots ¿?

    I have searched deep in this forum but don´t seem to find a clear answer or tutorial, many of them are not published anymore, or maybe I am looking from the wrong perspective.

    If you guys have any idea or can point me in some direction or tutorial it´d be great. I suspect it could be done using an array, but..... I am not really on that step (yet)

  • This is by far my favourite game of all times... yep, the age... lol

    This game is the reason I got not one, but two arcade cabinets in my house, and my wife almost hating me... One of the cabinets is home made, and every single piece was cut in the living room, imagine the rest.

    Anyway, Would love to play your game someday!! I am sorry I can´t help you as rojohound did.

  • Hi everyone, hope you are doing well :)

    I will be hosting an event with a very simple game, just a clicker game. Using Sparsha´s great firebase plugin, I can register, read and write the user, email, scores, leaderboards, etc. No problem here.

    I would like to terminate the game after x time for every player at the same time.

    Here is my idea: Read from database line "Users are playing" set to 1 or 0 and make the game check this every 1 -5 secs.

    If that variable (that updates from the DB) is 0, let them play

    If that variable (that updates from the DB) is 1, send them to the leaderboard/endgame

    I can change the value in firebase, and see it reflected in my game ok, however, it´s not responding the action.b

    Any ideas?

  • Eren and skymen thank you so much for your help :) I really got the thing working until I needed Itemtable, which I thought I could compensate with SaveSlot , but I really don´t know how to ......

    I followed skymen advice and just bought Sparsha plugin, at least the basic version, hopefully I can start understanding everything a bit more.

    So anyways, I wantet to thank you both for your kind help :)

    Hopefully I don´t need it, but I will keep checking if there is an update on Itemtable.

I really got lost with versions, updates, or even methods.... sometimes I see tutorials "no plugins required" but I really get lost in the process of the tutorial itself. hopefully using this plugins makes a bit easier sending and receiving data from firebase :)

    I read on the forum some issues regarding disable worker mode, but I still have a black screen lol

    Since we are here, can you recommend me a plugin or a method that can do the job? I really got lost this week, I see many different methods, different plugins, javascript, firebase, ajax + mysql and php..... I am doing my best to understand them, but maybe if you can point me to some direction, it´d be great.

    What I need to do is let the user register (ideally) and save variables such as time played, score, selected character, etc. I really don´t mind about security, since this is a game for a small group of kids in a school, there is no sensible data.

    What do you think would be the easiest method? If I need to get a paid plugin I will do it somehow with a friend living somewhere else.

    I might be doing something wrong myself, besides if there´s a problem with the addons or not...

    The Plugins I got them from wasthataddonported.surge.sh and github.com/erenertugrul/construct-plugins and they state they have been ported, maybe something else changed in the process... who knows.

    The error I get is this:

    As for other plugins, I could move to another, but In my understanding they are all paid plugins, right? I wish I could buy them, but I am not being able to process payments with my local card (lately currency issues in my country have been amazingly restrictive) Eventually I will buy them, lol

    I have also seen many JS tutorials on this matter, but I can´t seem to be up to the task, any recomendation? My goal is to load a bunch of variables under a username (score, time played, wrong answers, right answers, etc)

  • Hi, hope you are all doing great,

    Do Authentication, firebase, and firebaseAPIv3 still working on Construct 3?

    When I use them in C2 they seem to work ok , but in c3, as soon as I use one of the 3 plugins, the preview screen goes black with loading message.

    I imagined it could be a firebase/permission issue, but after reading all the tutorials available, that side seems to be ok ¿?

    If anyone can confirm they are still usable on C3, I´ll keep on trying... I have been desperately triying for the last 3 days lol

  • I have seen an answer here about the same exact thing, but since the post is really old, I cannot revive it, and the file that seems to have the answer is obviouly gone.

    The answer was given at that moment by vtrix

    My question is, I have a long text. Is there any way I can show it in parts, like if they were keframes on an animation maybe? with a next button, etc.

    I have tried to move it up and down and mask it, but I feel it´s a very mmessy method, and I am sure there might be a better one

    any ideas? Thanks so muchin advance :)
