  • I don't have much experience with that function, but I seem to remember something about needing either "unbounded scrolling" on, or be scrolled away from the edges out into a larger layout. If it's against a locked edge, it can't move (jiggle) the screen past it or something.

  • Currently in app advertising requires 3rd party plugins, and the Arcade is still limited to vanilla Construct2. The new Arcade they are planning will allow approved 3rd party plugins, but I don't know if there it will allow ads.

The games in the arcade advertise Construct2, more obviously when other sites use the embed tool. (It's the main point of supporting the arcade.) So that may have priority.

  • It's my Tizen contest entry, so I'm waiting for that before I spread it around too much.

I'm hoping the judges for the 10 50,000 HTML5 prizes really like cannon games. ;-)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I had tried the even simpler method, where the place you click/touch determined the angle, and the distance from the cannon was the power, but this way felt more satisfying.

You could have him grab gunpowder on his way after firing to increase the max power available...

    Edit:

A tip for those who want to shoot full power: Knock a hole in a wall with something on top of it like a turret, or a second floor. Then full power shot into the hole and the ball will bounce up hitting the part above, and then back down. Basically it will bounce around in that hole doing a great deal of damage.

  • It counted on the share card for the first half hour, then stopped at 23.

The arcade has had that glitch for awhile now. I think it can manually be reset, but I think it's pretty much waiting for the new Arcade.

  • Thank you. However according to the counter no one has played it. Zero. heh heh

  • Sounds like you could also put drag and drop on that invisible object, and when dropped, snap it back to the clock.

  • I read your post earlier because I'm currently working on a pie chart idea in my head for a game. (by rotating half circles)

Then I just happened across a game example in the arcade with a sample capx for bar charts:

    http://www.scirra.com/arcade/example/10017/automatic-bar-graph-system

Which links to his Line graph example:

    http://www.scirra.com/arcade/example/11248/automatic-line-graph-system

hmm, looking again, his line chart might need some tweaking, it connects the line to the base line between values.

  • It's that way on purpose. So that you can still do all the maintenance on the object you destroyed, like access the instance variables, spawn an explosion at one of it's image points, or a variety of other things.

So usually it's a good thing.

  • I went ahead and uploaded Cannonball Bash to the arcade to show that it is possible can make an artillery game without physics.

    http://www.scirra.com/arcade/action/11686/cannonball-bash

  • in Cannonball Bash I used 9patch to make my graduated box over a tiled background object. The 9 patch is set on repeat, so it is actually only one segment wide, and the background is transparent.

so you can see how one would work here: http://cannonballbash.clay.io/

  • Can you clarify what you mean?
