Whether or not an event becomes a subevent is based on the horizontal position of the mouse. Move it further to the left and it should switch from making a subevent to inserting it adjacently.

I have personal non-steam

from what I understand the steam version links to your Steam acct and Steam must be running to open C2

My licence NON Steam lets me install anywhere without Steam and just need to have my licence file with me

I don't use Steam at all

so non Steam is best for me

If not wanting to have Steam up entire time using C2 then I'd go with non-Steam version

for update question

I BELIEVE updates are released SAME TIME SAME FREQUENCY

Scirra hasn't shown preference in past with betas and I don't believe they are now

I would like to see that, sometimes topics of interest can become lost and forgotten....

that was my thought as well

the new stable release says has experimental support so a 3rd party plugin shouldn't be tried

I see the tutorials have a favourite option but I haven't found the same option for the forums like: subscribe to new posts, or a 'favourite' forum topic so it is easy to come back to.

Am I missing it or should I just bookmark it in my browser and be happy with that?

Contrasting the example above, here you can see in action the problem I am talking about:

The starting position of the player is on the top-left of the layout and his shadow/bulletholes are being generated in a layer below, with lower parallax values (90,90). At the beginning, everything seems to work ok, the shadow is in place and the bulletholes appear at the mouse.X, mouse.Y. The further you stray away from the starting point though, the more you can observe the offset I am talking about. You can download the capx file here if you like:

Why are you wanting the shadow/bulletholes to have lower parallax rate than your player?

parallax would start out being fine because little variation in layers' position but parallax is meant to create that offset that you are saying is error
