  • Ever wondered how to implement an AI that thinks ahead just like in a chess game? In the Trial of Taijitu, you will be playing against an AI that regulates itself according to your skill. The Trial of Taijitu is played on a field of 7 discs revolving around the symbol of duality. You control 3 alternate discs while the AI controls the other 3; the final disc closest to the centre spins on its own accord.

The object of the game is to spin the discs so that 3 or more gems match up on your side of the play area. You have 3 minutes to beat the AI and don't think that this will be an easy task...

Can you win the Trial of Taijitu?

You can play the game at http://gameswarp.com/studio/demo/Taijitu/.

Tom: It's mentioned that games with source code are "strictly for personal educative and learning purposes."

Well, I was looking through the Education pages and noticed that schools are actually on either a monthly or yearly subscription. How pray tell will a seller be able to benefit from this, if say a school decides to purchase his game with source code?

Everyone else: It seems there aren't many people who wants to sell source code in the store now. Why is that so? Would you deem it not "profitable"? And how much would you pay for source code?

In fact, there should be a place to store all the "wish-we-could-have-these-features" for Construct 2. I love the forums, but they go sprawling all over the place at times.

Beaverlicious: I remember seeing an upload percent status at the bottom of my Chrome browser. Not an attractive upload bar, but at least I got some sense of my upload progress through a number marching towards 100.

Besides, Tom had said earlier - "I do plan on making it all better at some point. I'm really at the stage now where it's all working well, and I want to move on to other things so we can get it released. There really is an unlimited number of things we could do with it at this point. So hopefully in the future I'll revisit those pages and consider those changes."

Tom: Maybe you can consider making a public Trello page (or similar) so that users can submit suggestions to improve the new store. Here is a sample Trello page of mine for soliciting inputs for my vertical shoot-em-up game: https://trello.com/b/hWdSby4S/the-battl ... ese-667-cc

    Whoa... TL;DR yet. Later.

Tom: One fundamental question - So what happens if a customer defaults - and releases a game using their name, or pirates our game, or uses artwork/audio in countless projects, etc? Is Scirra going on the warpath on our behalf?

What would you do other than present a lifetime ban award to the offender?

I just emailed about a plugin I have for the store. I'm just curious, how long does it take for a reply?

LOL, once Tom is awake... probably give him at least another three hours and time to go through his inbox.

Jokes aside though: Although there was a fear of no longer having new "free" plugins because of the store, it would be good to actually finally see a premium plugin in that empty category.

    Tom:

Can we fine-tune the Seller Account page? (https://www.scirra.com/newstore/seller-account)

Because right now I have to individually enter each item I have put up on sale just to see their statistics - page views and unique visitors. Imagine having 20 items on sale in the store... you will have to open 20 tabs on Chrome or Firefox.

Unless you are saying that the Sales Report will summarize this information for me?

Tom This, and also all descriptions I've written are gone now for some reason. Don't know if it was done because of some code changes or is it a bug?

And I thought I was the only one... I lost two of my descriptions too. I suspected they were parsed by a newly installed module in the store, and when a hyperlink was spotted in the description - the entire thing was removed.

Which is why I was forced to rewrite my descriptions and to put Demo URL links in their respective sections. A minor frustration, but not that big an issue, just rewrite... and now it sticks.

And, yeah... your audio previews are not working for me either.

I am also seeking permission from Ashley to use the C2 logo (gear with the number 2) for the group. And I would like to use illustration-02.jpg for the "hero image" of the group.

    Thanks.

  • Don't worry... I ain't after the reward. Just love challenges like these, and besides this problem may crop up again for someone who is looking for a solution or workaround to this.

Here's the best quick and dirty solution I could find:

    1. System->On Start of layout, Mouse->Set Cursor to None

    2. System->Every tick, Sprite->Set position to (Mouse.X, Mouse.Y)

This way, at least you get a permanent custom sword graphic. If you do the mouse click sequence, the mouse arrow cursor just appears atop your graphic, that is until you move your mouse. Not that bad...

And like what others are saying, just release your game.
