    > Well, for what it's worth, Construct 2's education license is already a subscription, and that seems to have been working out fine.

    >

    > Also, you'd rather pay $500 up-front? That gets you five years of usage...

    >

I think they do not understand what the problem is here, or if they understand it but they do not care ...

People do not want to Rent, people want to Buy software and use it when they want without any Pressure, if a year can not use it because they are busy with other tasks do not have the feeling of Throwing Money and when 10 years pass if Want to reuse that particular software Can always do it

Scirra is forgetting a large part of its users, which make up a large part of the users of C2, many people who have a hobby and who do not dedicate full time to make games

For these people, Subscription equals Throwing Money

I give up its like talking to brick wall.... no one's care about selling C3 only to rent it, why I'll be out until I find a alternative

    >

    > You say it's cheap, but most people, even those who can stomach going rental are pleading for a lower price for first year, more free features or a one time payment offer combined with rent. In the end we can be cynical and say - well yeah- of course they will.

    >

    > I dare to say that I can afford paying a rent for it, but still think that it ain't worth it. I just don't use it often enough to justify paying yearly and I guess I will use it even less now.

    >

    > The problem is not the price. The problem is the payment model- just doesn't justify a html5 only game engine. Even stencyl - which is very similar in pricing and target audience (perhaps inspiring scirra) can compile to native games

    >

Actually I was going to ask Tom if I could just get them to use some of what I've earned from the Scirra store to handle the fee for C3.

You making loads of money mate I was going to buy a account in the store but c3 Subscription Fee change my mind

    >

    > > Free!

    > >

    > > Tom / Ashley . Can you just give us what is covered in the free version? Most people yapping might not even need the subscription features, and can be fully contented with the free version. Unity free is decent, would C3 be the same? We all love to see the Free vs Paid feature list. I don't want to poke you against unity https://blogs.unity3d.com/2016/06/05/subscription-why/, on why they went through a subscription model, then went through a pay to own.

    > >

    >

    > I think Tom mentioned that the free version will let you open projects, but not edit them or export the game... which imo makes it pretty much worthless

    >

This is wrong, the free edition will have limits. You can work and edit games in the free edition up to those limits. If you open a project that exceeds those limits, it will be in read only mode.

Ok surpise me here Any no subscription. Question i an up to be a beta tester

    > EDIT:

    > You know what? Frak that. That's enough. That was the last straw. I'm Out.

No problem, you're free to do as you wish. Good luck.

Tom all we need for you to do is to abandon that subscription fee crap

  • a new update to Chrome could stop Construct 3 working?

Here we go again cant use construct 2 without third party compiler now can use Construct 3 without one more add third party software with it... One more headache on the Compiler one we all have already. Here i was thinking that Subscription was the only Bad News but a new third party need... WHO DID REALIZE THAT WE NEED a third party Browser on top of what we have already Cocoon and Intel XDK, remember WHEN we have compiler BUG and we post it on Scirra.com Tom and Ashley say they cant do nothing about it so we get #^%$ NOW when Chrome or Firefox or which every not working lol

  • think is going to be level 4

currently it is just the foundation all it need now is graphics and 99 more level you going to love it

as you you maybe next year i wont be here again if trump win kmt if they do Subscription Fee

I don't see any problem with subscription. 99$/y is a low cost for good game dev software.

DeusEx Construct 3 we are talking about not Unity 3D. Yes $99 is a low cost for good game dev software like Unity 3D or Uureal Engine but sorry to say not for Cnstruct 3 when 98% of us only use it for fun in our spare time...

Doing it because they cant afford to pay to do a simple survey before making a price so i am offering my time for free to knock some sense in Ashley and Tom head

What is the purpose of encouraging discussion, "listening" to a community in that case.

Who are you to dictate what I can and can't express pertaining to this subject?

I care a great deal about Construct 2, and have put far too many hours into it to watch it crumble along with its community.

well said... from july 2016 to December 2016 i can count on one hand the amount of time i open C2 but before i am on it night to night... So why most i Subscribe to something i am not using... Last week i start making a new game waiting excitement for a good news
