  • It does. To run Windows 8 on my Netbook, I had to set a resolution, that is not native to my screen size (it has a weird size). After setting the resolution to a value the system supports, the desktop became stretched to fit the screen. While working in normal programs, everything looks fine, but in my installed browsers, images and text looks not weel.

  • Try Construct 3

  • just to throw something in I have with my Netbook. This might be your problem as well.

I have installed Windows 8 on my Netbook last weekend (not as bad as initially thought it will be) and ran into a problem that Metro told me that the resolution settings are set too low. I found out, that most Laptop Graphic cards do set a value in the registry to stretch a normal resolution to fit the laptop screen, which mostly have a non native resolution size.

This might be your problem, that your System is stretching the images in your browser to fit the screen which will result in having blurry images just on your computer but not on other.

  • thanks xelloskun, will update the download in a few minutes with your fix.

Had not the time to figure it out myself ;)

  • I have it running on 4 machines, that I can work on any of them depending on which system I am sitting at the moment. You just need to get sure, that you are the only one who is using it :)

  • You can export your project with plain javascript and minified javascript (which makes it a bit more difficult to ready for everyone).

The "No Programming Required" just says, that you don't need to code JavaScript yourself, to write your game.

Easiest is to download the free version and hava a look. The only difference is, that you are limited to 100 events and a few other things like "Families".

  • The Down Button is not bad, it has no affect on the votes you need and the game disappears from the voters list. I think Valve is already doing it better than Apple at least, if you like to publish on the ITunes store, you need to pay 99$ every year. For steam, it is a one-time fee.

Anyhow, I have submitted a game (was developed over 10 years, with nearly monthy releases with additions and fixes) before the fee came up and took it down again, because I was really annoyed by all the flaming on the graphics (yes, the game does not look great but there are much worse games on Steam).

If you don't work on a 1:1 clone of Battlefield, don't waste your time on Greenlight.

  • 90 for Euro Europe, which is 10 more than the US price converted into Euros.

I do like the idea to ask for a subscription fee and that it goes to charity (deducting Tax on Steams side), what I don't like is, that the donation is made by Steam and not in the name of the subscriber. This gives steam the possibility to deduct the donations from their taxes.

  • A quick workaround: Place a shortcut to the folder on your desktop or somewhere you can easily find it. With it, you only have a few clicks :)

  • You do it the way you just mentioned yourself.

If the player reaches an achievement, save a value in webstorage. To check if he has that Achievement, just read from the webstorage.

  • Yes, there are also several threads about it.

You need to have a WebSocket Server (ex. "node.js") installed on your server that handles all of the communication between the clients.

This is hard work and not easy to explain in a couple of words.

  • is it just me, of is the system down completely? Getting error 404!

  • only workaround I would know at the moment is to set the game to fullscreen and let the player press F11 to switch the browser into real full screen mode too.
