Anyhow, I have submitted a game (was developed over 10 years, with nearly monthy releases with additions and fixes) before the fee came up and took it down again, because I was really annoyed by all the flaming on the graphics (yes, the game does not look great but there are much worse games on Steam).
If you don't work on a 1:1 clone of Battlefield, don't waste your time on Greenlight.
Yes, I had the exact same feeling when I read the comments on some good looking games.
"Oh, another retro platrofmer."
"hnnnnggggg, pixel-art :/"
Then I checked these guys' game list, and they were the ones who bought Swords and Sworcery, Home, Lone Survivor, and other games like that...
They are juste flaming because they think it's "cool". It usually doesn't bother me that much, but damn', it's greenlight, something that could have helped small developpers like me, and it's full of flamers :/
I had great expectations for Steam Greenlight, because I am developping a game with almost no money, I could at least have tried to submit a game, to get feedbacks, and then I see this 100$ fee and these flamers...
