  • Hi Ashley & Thomas

Il try to explain the above titel.

Im building multiple web apps for my website.

    These apps have study purposes.

Im happy to say that at the current rate i have been able to build all that i need except for one very imporant feature.

At an ideal situation i imagine that in the future construct 2 has a feature for within my apps by which i can input the ftp details of my server.

And then i can input a folder name.

So that from then on the app im building can save complete canvas and events states to that folder.

(I imagine canvas as the whole thing: So all created sprites at their current position, behaviours etc)

And then (in the created app itself) would be implemented a specific plugin that can simply Load "total game state" and Save "total game state".

Why i am asking scirra to implement this feature in a future build is because, i think it would benefit not only me, but all game creators using construct 2 to have a (from their end) simple way to be able to save their whole game state in a permanent server folder and load this state from within their game or app.

I know u dont get me wrong, so in plain simple language i can say that many people use construct 2 because of its effectiveness in functional simplicity.

And building a save and load function seems to be a really hard case at this point(for the ones who are not fully into programming) as myself.

I am aware of the webstorage plugin.

But "as far" as i am aware of it, it only uses browser sessions and local sessions.

So in other terms when the user erases the cashe memory its all gone.

And it does not simply have a function save the all state and load the all state.

What i myself am searching for is a (simple) "permanent" save solution.

That way the users of my apps can keep on building content from within the apps they are using, and later recall them for study.

Building a database of knowledge can then be aplied.

I know this is a specific usage for me.

But i can imagine that others would benefit from this construct 2 feature as well.

Maybe a save and load to and from dropbox function for within a game or app could be an even simpler solution?

Thanx for what u have read so far.

Im looking forward to a reply.

    Kind regards.

  • Hi

As the titel implies i am searching for a way to be able to connect an event to the direction movement of the physics, as in (moving up on the Y axis, or moving down on the Y axis.)

Its for a ball in a sort of pinball game by which i need a set of options relative to when the ball is moving up the leven or down the level.

I thought of pure angle events but as far as i understand at this point the angle only gives a (is facing towards) gesture.

Not an (is moving down on Y or up on Y)

In short the event i am trying to create is:

If Sprite (Ball) moves Up on Y & mouse click button 1 then: action 1

If Sprite (Ball) moves Down on Y & mouse click button 1 then: action 2

Any idear would be very kind.

    Thanx!

  • Hey Potexto.

Please upload your complete (.Capx) file so people at the forum can download it and test run it in there own copy of Construct 2.

U dont need to export anything, the .Capx file u are working on is the one people need.

When i try your (.Caproj) file construct crashes.

(.CapX) is the way as talked about here.

  • Thanx Yann and Weishoupt

Il try the method yann is sharing.

Il report back when i do or dont have suc6.

  • Ah thanx on the advice!

  • Ah wonderfull!

    Thanx tom.

  • Where do i find the sounds and sprites that should come with the licensed edition.

The install of construct 2 is around 28 mb so what am i missing?

Ive searched the forum for this but i can only find a result for the free bundle.

On the website however it says that the licensed version comes with much more sounds and free sprites & music etc.

I would really like to get them.

I recently bought the standard license.

  • Hi

    Capx

Link is modified with the functioning portal! Thanx to Yann's tips!

Edit: Capx is removed from server.

I am trying to build a portal in my "sortof" pinball meets angrybirds game and i want to do it by using the wrapping behaviour.

Im intending on having a invisible wall on the left and right side of the layout that moves in sync with the Y axes of the ball.

When the walls then overlap a portal sprite that are also on the left and right side of the screen, i intend to set the walls to some other position so that the ball can go offscreen and wrap around it.

This way i can keep the angle and speed of motion intact.

And thus i create the illusion of a portal.

To do this however i need the green ball to wrap around the play area and as u can see in the capx it doesnt.

Any idears on why it wont wrap so i can fix it?

    Thanx in advance!

    I really enjoy learning C2 <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • Exactly like that Thanx!

Now i only need a smaller jelly blob than this one and i really dont know how to change the events to achieve that.

This event programming is out of my leage at this moment.

I need a jelly blob that has many points to be nice and round.

And only 40 pixels large in total.

If u or anyone could help it would be nice <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Is there a way in construct 2 to make a physics ball act like a blob when in collision?
